I take Junel Fe 1.5/30 birth control pills, since June of this year about one week after my period I begin to get a mild yeast infection. My doctor calls in a Rx for the wonderful pink pill and of course it is cured. My questions to you is: has anyone else experienced this while taking birth control pill? Is the pink pill really getting rid of the entire infection or just the symptoms? Is there another treatment I could request from my doctor? I will be seeing him in October for a full check up, but I have my period right now and I am hoping maybe this month it won't happen again.
Yes,I had that problem. It became severe. I took acidophilus for about 6 months and quit having them. I have never heard of a pill for yeast infections.
I haven't heard of that with the pill, but you may want to try some probiotics. A lot of times when you are on antibiotics (which it doesn't sound like you are), it allows yeast to move in. Maybe you just don't have enough of the good bacteria, or maybe there just isn't enough air "down there" during your period, which allows the yeast to grow?
If its just a mild yeast infection, try yogurt. I am diabetic so I am more prone to get them. I just got a prescription for my son and the pharmacist said to give him yogurt everyday while he is on it. If it continues to happen, you may want to talk to your doc about another pill or method of birth control. Don't douche becuase it takes time for the good baterica to grow back and the yeast doesn't take as much time to grow and it could make it worse, according to my gyn.
That has happened to me. I used to get yeast infections monthly. It was directly related to the type of OBC I was using. I got so desperate I went to the birth control shot, which had even worse side effects. For about 5 years now, I have been on Trivora. It is a generic. I'm not sure for what though. Now, I get yest infections very rarely. To avoid getting one, I try to eat a yogurt a day. I have also take acidophius (sp?) in the past which definatley helps. The pink pill you refer to never completely made my symptoms go away. I would have to use RX cream which is more potent than the over the counter kind. I hope you find something that works for you. Yeast infections are very uncomfortable to deal with.
This happened to me when I was on a certain birth control pill. After I switched to a different type of pill I didn't get yeast infections. Maybe try a different birth control pill.
I go to the health food store and get a product called candex. It can clear a yeast infection or use it as prevention. I also use probiotics everyday.
I had recurring yeast infections while on a certain type of BCP. I finally switched to a triphasic kind and they went away.
Take a daily probiotic for sure. I'd be happy to make a recommendation.
