Hi D.. My GYN put me on Yaz last year (age 35) after having taken Yasmin (slightly higher dose of the same brand) for several years. I did great on Yasmin - short, uneventful periods. I have done very well on Yaz as well. I can be very grouchy around that time and both of these pills seem to help that - sometimes still want to be a little grouchy but seem to be able to control it better - a little more myself in realizing, 'oh, this is just my hormones. I don't really want to strangle my husband.' HA! I haven't had any side effects with either drug. Periods run light and only for about 2 days which my doctor said was exactly what the drug was supposed to do and was not harmful to my body at all. No headaches or fatigue as side effects and the pill seemed to manage my usual tiredness around this time pretty well. On the skin, I don't know about that. I don't have acne but I've noticed in the last couple of years (I just turned 36) that my skin still has as much oil as when I was a teenager. I don't know if that is a side effect of the pill - like maybe at this age my skin should actually be getting drier - or if my hormones are just backward. I don't know. Anyway, I think either of these are good products and I have recommended them to several of my friends. Best of luck, C.
