You may not know what to look for. Or feel for. Whatever. Anyway, try drinking some juice or a soda. That might get some movement for you. But trust me, there will be a time when you want the movement to stop so you can sleep!
this is my first pregnany and i am now 20 weeks pregnant. i am worried because i havent felt my baby move. everytime i have went to the doctor though my baby has had a very good heartbeat. is it normal to not feel ur baby move at 20 weeks???

I don't think I felt anything until 22 or 24 weeks, and even then it was minor and I didn't even realize what it was at first. A few weeks make a big difference tho! Don't worry if you're hearing a heartbeat at your appointments, pretty soon you'll start feeling him/her move and it will be all the time. The first time you worry about everything so try and relax. : )
I felt mine from time to time, but towards the end he only had room to squirm and I didn't feel much. My husband felt the baby kicking all night while I was asleep. When you are awake and moving, your motion helps the baby sleep. When you are still and sleeping, baby likes to party. It's one of the reasons they usually have their days and nights mixed up for awhile. I would snuggle up to my husband in my sleep, and he felt a nudge and move over. I would snuggle up to him again, and he'd get another nudge. Finally he fell out of bed! My son loves that story. He kicked Dad out of bed before he was born!
With my first pregnancy I was about 19 weeks before I felt any movement. With my second and third I felt around 17 weeks. It also depends on your weight, the heavier you are there is more tissue so its harder to feel any movement. I recommend talking to your doctor for your own relief getting a professional opinion.
So it one day I was sitting watching tv and it felt like I was having gas. That bubble moving around to go exit (sorry, but the only way to explain it) But the it never did. So I sat their thinking, where is my fart? I then realized it was the baby moving!! It will happen. Some babies just wait awhile, or just don't want to move be cause it's so comfy in there. I wouldn't. As long as your doctor isn't worried, then no worries. UNLESS! You seriously feel that something is wrong, then call your doctor immediately. Mother's instinct is a powerful thing.
Do you mean you have not felt baby move ever , or just today? If never then 20 wks in a first pregnancy can still be hard to tell what the movement feels like , it will feel like a flutter , if you can imagine holding soda in your mouth that fizzing sensation on your tongue , kind of like that , like gas I suppose. If you have not felt any movement today and are concerned then call the doctor and see what they say , sometimes they can be led in a certain posistion where you just cannot feel them moving.
To be honest, you probable felt it, but thought it was gas or something... I truly wouldn't worry... As you get further along it will become more sparatic. I didn't feel much in the beginning but towards the end I was able to actually see the kick! :-) Enjoy your pregnancy, and CONGRATS!!
That is perfectly normal. I am petite and thought that would make a difference - it didn't. I think it was around 22-24 weeks before I was certain I could feel any movement. After that, the movement was much more frequent as the baby gains size and strength and before long, you'll feel like you have a little soccer player in your tummy. That little one is just relaxing right now! Hope you are too!
Yes, especially if you're a big girl or if the baby is positioned back closer to your spine. Once he or she starts running out of room in there, you're bound to feel a flutter or kick. Don't worry....once it starts, it won't stop until due day!
Do not worry! Baby will move when he/she feels like it. He is very comfortable!
with my first pregnancy (and only one!) i didn't feel anything forever...and i was having twins! you would think i would have felt something! what i didn't realize is that what i thought was a muscle spasm was one, or both, of my babies moving. i just assumed it was a simple stomach muscle spasm, not realizing that could not happen anymore. people always told me it would feel like a butterfly in your stomach, so i was waiting for the butterflies...they never came...then one day the real stuff started happening :) soooo fun!! i was 22 weeks at that time.
congrats!!
I have to agree with a lot of the ladies that answered already, that the baby has moved, you just haven't realized that it's the baby moving. With my first I didn't figure out the movements until I was close to 22 weeks, and now with my 3rd, I could feel the flutters at about 16 weeks, only because I knew what they were suppose to feel like.
Especially with your first pregnancy, it is completely normal not to feel the baby move at 20 weeks. Within the next few weeks you'll probably be more aware of him or her and no longer wondering if it is baby movement or indigestion. Also, if you are at all overweight or underweight, the movements will be more slight for a longer period of time. With my first pregnancy, my daughter, I was underweight and not entirely sure of her movements until 22 weeks. With my second pregnancy, my son, who is now 18months and never stops moving, I was well aware of his movement by 16 or 17 weeks. Now I am at 21 weeks of my third pregnancy and I have to really concentrate to be aware of this baby's movements. Every body and every baby is different. I am sure you and yours are just fine. Best of luck to you!
