As a working mom I have had a really hard time finding playgroups/events/activities to do with my baby during the evenings or weekends. I was wondering if anyone was aware of any working moms playgroup in the NW Austin area or if any one was interested in creating one.

What can I do next?

I too am interested in joining one for working moms. I have an 18 month old who loves playing with other kids, but we don't know that many. He goes to a small in-home daycare with one other kid most of the time. So he plays with only one child there. And that mom doesn't talk to us (don't know what her deal is) so we can't make plans with her. So let me know if you start one.

Hi Leanny,

You know Henry and I are up for evening and weekend get-togethers. Hopefully we can find some other moms who are interested a playgroup that doesn't happen during business hours.

Let's plan something and maybe our group will grow from there.

I have a two year old girl and she also goes to a small home daycare. We have not been able to participate in any of the events around us because her father and I both work. I am looking for a group that can get together late morning on Saturday's and do something affordable. It seems like we have a great deal of parks and inexpensive activities around the north austin area. I would just like to give my daughter the experience of playing with some other children her age and I would not mind some adult conversation either.

Count me IN! My two-year-old is with our wonderful au pair all day but he need to be around other kids. He used to go to day care and so he likes to be with kids. I also have two 6-month-old twins. I'm looking to form a network of moms to go on inexpensive outings and help each other out keeping everyone safe.

Try Moms Club. They have an international web site that allows you to find a chapter in your area. My daughter in law just moved to California and was very active in a group here in North Austin. My daughter spent 5 years active in a Maryland group and last year moved to Rochester and immediately got involved with a group there. Both have had great experiences in playgroups and group activities for their little ones.
