I recently discovered how great a steam mop is and have been recommending them to everyone! I have a shark steam mop. Read more about why it's so great here: http://hubpages.com/hub/eco-friendly-steam-mop-shark-stea...

I have tile floors, but it would be the perfect solution for wood floors because the steam evaporated almost immediately, so you have clean and sanitized floors easily and instantly without the need to go back and dry it!

I have sealed hardwood floors in my house. I use a Eureka Enviro Steamer. It is kind of like a Shark Steamer. It is less expensive and recieved better reviews on Amazon. Check it out! You will not regret it!
p.s. Don't use stuff like orange glo or Murphey's Oil Soap! They leave a residue. If you want a simple cleaner, use white vinegar in warm water and a damp (NOT wet!) sponge mop.

Most of my wood floors are painted (my house is 107 years old), so I simply vacuum with the wood floor attachment on my vacuum, and spot clean with Murphy's Oil Soap. On the floors that aren't painted, I do the same.

They have this amazing stuff at Bed Bath and Beyond called "Bona". If you buy the set, the mop, with removable, washable head, and the solution, it is $39.99. Bona is completely safe for Children and pets. The person that installed my wood floors told me to use it and they look beautiful! Also, every now and then, you can use Murphy's Oil. Just make sure you do not use too much of the oil in the water other wise it can leave a residue(sp??).
Good Luck!

Not sure ....are you referring to hardwood flooring or laminate hardwood flooring? There are special cleansers out there for hardwoods that you can find at home depot. My mom uses one from there however the name escapes me but I see that "Orange Glo" or something advertised on t.v. all the time. If its laminate hardwoods same thing they have cleaners that you can buy at home depot or lowes made specifically for laminate hardwoods-it should say it on the bottle. I think there is one that starts with a "B" and it works on both if im not mistaken. You spray it on the floor then get you one of those sweepers that have the washable liners with it. It is usually like a microfiber material. They sell them all over. Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, etc.
