Women's Rogaine

Has anyone used Women's Rogaine? I've been using Ovation Cell Therapy for over 9 months now & there hasn't been a significant change in my hair (at least not to the point where anyone has noticed) so I figured I was wasting my money. Let me know what your results were with Rogaine & how long it took for a noticeable change. Thank you in advance!

What can I do next?

My husband has used men's Rogaine, and it has definitely helped him keep his hair. It's wispy and thin, but I'm pretty sure he would be completely bald by now without it.

Women's Rogaine is not significantly different. It does help, but it probably won't give you luscious locks. And you have to keep using it. It is a little messy, and leaves kind of a film on his hair. I don't know if the female version does this. It's a bit of a pain, but better than being bald, I guess.

Mary Jane---A stylist once told me that Rogain does not help to grow new hair. It does, however, make what you've got grow faster and, I think, help keep you from losing more hair as fast as before.

Good luck...D.

Hi M., I have been using Ovation for almost a year and a half and i won't use anything else. Are you using the shampoo and conditioner as well or just the cell theorpy? and how are you using the cell theorpy? I ask because on the bottle it talks about a 2 hour conditioning period, well i use it after every shampoo and I leave it in my hair until my next hair wash, I have also used it with wet hair when I have put my hair in a pony tail, all's i can say for me is my hair didn't look this good before I had hair loss issues, I have longer thicker hair than i have ever had. Also how often do you wash your hair, ypu may be washing it to often, so your hair may not be getting the full benefit of Ovasion. J. L

Hi Mary Jane,
I read an article in the LA Times a few months back about a man trying the Target brand of Rogaine (bought online). He was using it and said it took about 8 months before he started seeing some new hair growth and that it was significantly cheaper than Rogaine. Good luck!

Hi:

My dermatologist told me to use Men's Rogaine foam version as it's the cleanest and easy to apply (she is hoping that the women's version will come out with a foam version soon, but is not holding her breath). She says that the Men's is not that different chemically-speaking and that it is what she recommends to all her patients. It sounded funny to me so I did some research online and yes, it's quite common for women to use the men's version. I have not purchased it yet but am so glad to have an alternative to my thinning hair :(

Best of luck to you!

M.

Yes, my mom (at the age of 64 years old) used Rogaine with great success. She stopped using it before the recommended time frame because her hairline was growing onto her forehead! . . . not in a really bad way but it definitely filled in her thinning hair at the crown. It's been about 5 years now and her hair is starting to thin again at the crown. I asked why she hasn't used Rogaine again and she said that it was kind of a pain to put in on her head on a daily basis but she knew she would inevitably need it again. The stuff works . .. just a little bit of a pain to apply it as recommended. Good luck.
