He never snored before
Our son's snored before he had his tonsils and adenoids out.
And he didn't once they were out.
We did not have the experience that you are having with your son.
What does your ENT say?
Our child snored before his adenoids were removed, then did not after the procedure. I would check with ENT.
The only other thing I can think of personally, is does your child have allergies? I have one with allergies and he snores when he's congested.
How long ago did he have the surgery? If it hasn't been very long then he might still have swelling inside. He might also be having allergies and is congested.
You haven't really provided enough information for a solid answer to your question. How old is he? Why did he have his adenoids out? I'm assuming it was for a medical reason, so why would you *regret* having a necessary medical treatment??
Is he snoring ALL the time now, or just sometimes? When did he have his surgery? If it was recent (last few weeks), his body is likely still healing, so he may have swelling that can cause snoring. Have you done all the recommended post-surgical care? Is he sleeping in a different position now than he typically did before surgery? As I'm sure you know, people are more likely to snore in certain positions than others.
My DD had her tonsils and adenoids out when she was 3, due to sleep apnea, and 5 years later she still snores sometimes. It depends on the position she's sleeping in, whether her mouth happens to be hanging open, what pillows she's using.... etc. She's never been as noisy a sleeper as she was *before* her surgery, but she can definitely saw some serious logs on occasion.
Have you followed up with the surgeon to ask about the snoring? That's who you really need to be asking. If you haven't yet, please do so.
If the surgery was recent, there may be swelling and this is temporary. If it was not recent, then it is very odd and basically the opposite of what normally happens. He will need to see the ENT again.
When I saw an ENT for sleep apnea about adenoid and tonsil surgery, he explained that they can't tell exactly what part of the anatomy is causing snoring. So you may take out tonsils, only to find that the restriction was somewhere else and that removing the tonsils created a bigger pathway to the adenoids (for example) so sometime snoring can get worse :/
Hopefully it's just caused by the swelling from the surgery.
