Don't forget the dog groomer!!! And we have tins of toffee for the animal hospital and staff! (My dog is in every month for bloodwork for a rare disease)
Each year I go through this panic around December 20 - who have I forgotten?! (In addition to the immediate and extended family)
Can you all help me complete my list? I hope this will help others too!
I get the following a gift or tip:
- Secretary
- Hairdresser
- Landscaper
- Postman
- People I order my pies from for Christmas dinner
- All day care teachers and school teachers
- Bus driver

Definitely the cleaning lady! I couldn't get by without her!
You know I am all about giving but this is too much. Our postal person keeps changing so I won't this year. I tip the massage therapist and the nail tech but I won't be giving a gift. Some coworkers have given me a gift and of course I want to exchange and then there are my bosses. I can't do it all. Our cleaning people charge me big $$ already. I did leave both of them some nice handsoaps and Godiva chocolate. At some point you need ot put a limit on it.
Teachers and teaching staff. Otherwise the cleaning ladies' and nail ladies' tip is that I hire them weekly to do something relatively low overhead and easy. Heck, I keep them in business here in America!
I feel bad. I never tip my postman or garbageman. Does everyone do this? Okay, I can see how I tip the postman I can just put it in the mailbox. The garbageman how do you tip? Attach something to lid of mailbox and hope they see it? Newspaper guy I don't see how unless I stand outside when they arrive but I'm not going to get out in the cold that early in the morning! I actually hardly see these guys since I'm not at home too much. Is it really necessary to tip them? I know it's always nice to receive a gift. I guess I always left these people out. Now teachers I definately give a nice gift card.
My husband usually gives a little extra to the hairdresser if it's right before Christmas. Otherwise, we only buy for family and the kids' teachers. I just don't think it's necessary to tip people like the mail carrier and the newspaper delivery person. It's their job and they get paid for it.
