Which Initial Do I Put on Teacher Gifts?

I would like to personalize an end of the year teacher gift with the teacher's initial. Now that my daughter is in K and calls her teacher by Mrs. "Last Name", do I use the first letter of the teacher's last name or the first letter of the teacher's first name? Thanks for your input!

What can I do next?

Depending on the type of gift, you could use "Ms. last initial" or her first and last initial. If it is something that she would be using in the classroom, and you can only use one initial, then I'd go with her last initial. I do think that using her first initial would be a little personal for the parent/teacher relationship, though.

I'd say last. I'm a teacher, and even though many of my students and their families KNOW my first name, I would be surprised (and confused) to get a gift with "T." or even a "T" written on it. The gift is from your daughter, it should reflect the relationship SHE has with her (which is as a student who calls her by her last name).

I would say it depends on the gift. If it's something like sticky notes that will be used at school, then do the last initial. If it's something more personal that the teacher would take home, you could do the first. I put the first and last name of my dd's teacher on some blank notecards.

This seams like a no-brainer: Use the letter that your child knows - the Last Name. Otherwise, your child will ask "who's this present for?". I have never heard of a teacher in a classroom being called by their first name by their students.
