Take him to the ft worth museum of science and history. They have completely redone it and it is AWESOME!! My 2 year old loves it there. We got a membership for $65 for the whole year.
Hello! I am going to take my 26 month old son out for a day (he usually stays at home with my husband while I am at work). I was thinking a children's museum, but I can not decide which one. I live in Arlington, so technically, FW is closer. However, the FW museum doesn't seem to be as good as Dallas. On the other hand, Dallas is a little further away and the TRAFFIC is ridiculous! My son is a bit on the shy side and may not enjoy himself if too many people are around. But then, I don't want to go somewhere and there isn't much for a kid his age to do.
What do you think?

I have never been to the FT Worth one but we love the Dallas one my son always has a great time (he is 22 months)
My 4 year old loves the Ft. Worth one, asks if we can go every week but it might be a bit more appropriate for a true pre-school aged child to slightly older. They have an area for little ones that's fabulous but there are also creation stations etc in the rest of the museum that are geared to slightly older kids that are into doing crafts and can follow directions etc. We've never been to the Dallas museum but always hear great things about it.
I love the Dallas one! You can take the Dart to the museum from a station a bit out. That is what we did.
I can't speak for the Dallas one, but the Fort Worth program is fantastic! My two daughters and three nieces all participated in it and LOVED it. In fact, my older daughter also did Zoo School at the Fort Worth Zoo and preferred Museum School to it.
Our 2 year old loves the Dallas Museum. There is a fun firetruck for them to climb and pretend drive. They can dress up in fire hat and outfit and ring the firebell. She also loves to watch the reptiles up close and personal because the exhibt is lower to the ground. The water area is also a big hit too.
I've found that Ft. Worth is better suited for kids a little older, like 4 and 5 but either way you should have a great day.
