I have a lot of old VHS tapes that have partially taped tv shows, movies, etc. I also have a VCR that sort of works. I don't want to donate the VCR (since sometimes it has problems rewinding and playing).
Do any of you know of any place in N. Dallas, Plano, Garland, or Richardson that recycles electronic equipment and videotapes?
Have you checked on internet? I heard there are place you can find locally to recycle.

Richardson and Carrollton has a place to recycle electronics. It may the the case they take the equipment rather than the tapes but you can call them to find out. Below is an article from a newsletter we put out for our neighborhood that has all the info.
Electronics Recycling
The City of Richardson and Asset Management & Services have partnered to offer the residents of Richardson a way to recycle their old computer and electronics equipment. This service is free of charge, except for residents bringing more than one monitor. AMS is located at 1355 N. Glenville between Arapaho and Collins. They can be reached at
###-###-#### for any questions and information about items that they accept. Televisions will be accepted at Intechra located at 2940 Eisenhower Pkwy Carrollton, TX 75007. In response to electronic equipment recycling, there is a place in Garland: Erecycler LLC, 2747 Oakland Ave., Garland, TX 75041. ###-###-#### (www.erecycler.net) [That is one block south of Kingsley Rd off Shiloh Rd.] I know that they recycle TVs, computers, monitors, cell and telephones, and shredders or just about anything with components in it. They charge $5 for monitors and TVs. They will destroy data tapes, so possibly VHS tapes. You can call them to be sure. Their hours are M-F 10:00AM to 4:00PM. I just took some things there recently.
Hi J.!! Below is information on Green Livings Recyling Drive that is going on this upcoming Saturday, October 18!! I'd encourage you to load up your car and take everything to them. It's a little bit of a drive for me, but it's worth it to me to know that my electronics are not going into the landfill! In April we collected 12,777 lbs of electronics. To put that into visual perspective, a Toyota Prius weighs 2,800 lbs, so 4.6 x that in 4 hours!
