My choices are back home to Phoenix to see my family or to Chicago where my husbands dad lives...which would you pick?
Added: weather isn't a factor because I grew up in AZ and he lived there for 10 years so we know that it's hotter
His dad is coming next week for Christmas. And was here in feb for a month helping after I had my daughter. So we do see him a lot. At least 3 times a year. My family it's been a while....he just hates going to Phoenix cause there's not a whole lot to do...besides everything we have done

What can I do next?

Phoenix! It's your family's turn to get a visit from you.

My husband hates visiting my family too. There may not be much to do in Phoenix, but I'm sure there is a favorite restaurant and a nice movie theater there that the whole family can enjoy.

Or what about all of the families meeting up in a place you've never been? I wonder if you could all get cheap/free lodging if you did some timeshare getaway where you offer to listen to their sales pitch. Either way, it's probably time to see your family instead of his. My parents have both passed away, and my sister's younger kids don't know me. My kids barely know my brothers. I am now making more of an effort to see my side of the family--with or without my husband. Good luck to you!

I really like Lucy's idea of meeting extended family somewhere that would be fun to explore for everybody, as long as all the people involved have the means to travel. We've done this a few times, and it can be lovely.

I guess it depends on how much you want to see your family. If that's not a factor I would pick Chicago over Phoenix in a heartbeat!
