Hobby Lobby has a whole section with sports theme...very cute and reasonably priced, especially when on sale!
I have two boys and I am trying to decorate their rooms. Where can I find inexpensive wall decor? I will probably do a sports theme for one room and transportation (trucks, trains, etc) for the other.
Thank you for all the wonderful suggestions.

Target. They have stickers basicall that you put on the walla, thy come off easily too. They are about $15 and they one wth sports stuff and one with trains, planes and cars.
We have a sports theme in our 8 yr olds room and went to Lowe's to buy sheets of peg board. Instead of the brown kind normally seen in the garage, we bought the silver/gray color (which looks more like a locker room) and covered his walls from floor to ceiling. Use metal "s" hooks to hand up helmets, sticks, jersey's, etc. Very cheap, totally cool and functional!
To decorate my daughter's room, I went to a teacher store and looked at bulletin board sets. I also found "accents" (the salesperson will know what these are). She wanted Nemo, so I found fish accents and stapled them all over her wall to make it look like a fish tank. It cost me less than $10, and the room looks great!
I am sure you can find sports and transportation themes as well... Hope this helps.
I got some posters at Mardels (in the education section) and then got simple poster frames at Hobby Lobby when they were half off. Turned out really cute. Mardels has a huge selection. I got a set that has kids songs (such as Wheels on the Bus, etc) and cute pictures.
Hobby Lobby has their wall decor 1/2 off right now. We got a ton of stuff for my daughter's room there yesterday, and they have some CUTE boy's stuff.
I second the Hobby Lobby one. It is dirt cheap when it's half off. They have great decor for babies. Good luck!
As an artist, I'm dismayed at all of the pre-designed stuff we push at our kids. I suspect it limits the development of both imagination and their aesthetic sensibilities.
I love it that my grandson has a few pieces of his own and my artwork placed around his room, which is pleasantly but simply furnished. He gets to admire and show off his developing abilities on their own terms, and can change or update the display at will.
This is not to say that your boys shouldn't have a theme or purchased decorations, and if they want to go this route, I hope you'll allow them to choose, within your budget, the designs they find most appealing. If your financial outlay is low, maybe you can encourage occasional change as their tastes mature.
If you want to do really cheap- and depending on how old they are- you could always go with finger paintings done by your sons and put up favorite posters or cards they got from their birthday.
My son is still pretty young (14 months) and his favorite decorations are still his 1 year birthday cards (full of color, numbers and words) and his fingerpaintings he does on large posters.
If they're a lot older than that then the dollar store usually has really colorful sports decorations, and of course they're only a dollar. :)
We found a lot of cute things for my son's bedroom at Home Depot. I like them a lot because they had stencils of trucks that he could do by himself.
You have to try ebay. I bought everything for my daughters walls and them some on ebay.
I'm not sure how unique of stuff you are looking for, but Target had some really cute sports and transportation bedding and coordinating wall decor. I plan on getting the some of the sports items for my son's new room.
Target!
They have the cutest stuff there...and both my 2 stores here in town have both the "themes" you have chosen, right this minute. They usually have all kinds of accessories that go along with. They are always reasonably priced and I love the "quilt" type blankets they offer as opposed to those regular "bed in a bag" type blankets...
Always check the clearance end caps, they rock! Don't forget to check down the art aisle, usually by the crayola, candle or book section...they have nice kid art too! I found a couple cute solar system paintings there recently and have been thinking about switching to robots/space theme.
My sons' have the transportation set (they share a room) but I had to go to Lowe's or Home Depot (sorry cant remember which) to get some coordinating light switch covers and night lights!
So Fun!
I was just at Ikea yesterday and they have some cute/affordable framed pictures as well as wall decals. Also I definitely agree with Rachel S. on the Ebay suggestion... they have everything from original art to prints for great prices. Art.com does as well. Depending on how much extra time you have, you might even want to try a wall mural project. They are sold on Ebay or you can do a google search for other sellers, and it is usually some kind of basic stencil that you trace on the wall and color in (sort of like a paint-by-number). Best of luck!
Hi N.,
I actually found that EBay has some wonderful, talented sellers who do wall art. I just ordered hand painted wooden letters for my daughter, that match her bedding set. I bought the bedding set cheaply off Amazon and then emailed it to the EBay seller and she matched the letters to the bedding without any problem at all. Anyway, I'm not sure what you are seeking in terms of wall decor, but I was surprised at how many beautiful and brand new things I could find on EBay. Best of luck!
Belive it or not but Dollar Tree has a fairly wide selection of peel & stick wall decor for bedrooms & bathrooms @ least the 2 locations I go to have them.It won't hurt to go check it out
