We have a paid off Worldmark timeshare and we are looking to sell it. Does anyone have an suggestions on how to do that or maybe an honest company to sell it through? We have it listed right now with some company that we researched, but have heard nothing from them in 4 months so we need to do something else.

Worldmark does not offer buy back or resale help. :-(

If we sell it ourselves do we need a realtor to broker it?

Thanks

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I just googled SellmytimeshareNOW and the reviews are horrible!!! I would not suggest using them. sigh... that is what we keep running into. There does not seem to be any legitimate company to resale timeshares. What a racket.. guess I am in the wrong business.

Thanks ladies! I will look into the companies you suggested. I will sell at a loss, but I really hope I do not have to pay to give it back.

Worldmark may not buy your timeshare back, but will they let you GIVE it back to them? That's what I just did with my timeshare last December.

I looked into trying to list it with someone but the fees were outrageous and most of the ones I read about got horrible reviews. I listed my timeshare on craigslist but got very little interest. I looked into donating it, but the cost to donate it was high - around $2500! Geesh.

Finally I read somewhere that some companies will let you give the timeshare back to them, so I called my company and they said they would take it. I still had to pay them to take it - $200 for an appraisal and $50 to transfer the deed - but that was the best deal I could find. No one wanted to pay me for it, and I didn't want to pay the next $450 maintenance fee, so $250 sounded like a bargain.

If your company won't let you give it to them, you may have a hard time getting rid of it without it costing you a lot :(

I don't know much about selling, but my dad has always bought timeshare weeks or points without using a realtor. He buys directly from the owner. Do you have a week(s) or points? If you have a specific time at a specific place, I'd try getting in contact with other people who have the week before, same week, or week after. Some people want a couple of weeks to vacation, some want two units for family, etc. If points, you might try selling to others who want more points. I'm sure the points would sell quicker as they are more flexible. Good luck.

Have you talked with the company about selling it? I have a time share and the company told me when I bought it that they would sell it for me. I don't know if that's for real but I'd at least ask. They might also be able to point you in the direction of someone who has shown success selling time shares.

Later, I had another time share and they let me give it back to them without any charge.

We are WorldMark owners and we purchased through Timeshare Liqudation Service twice. Dan, Carla, and Mike Murphy are former employees of WorldMark and know the program in and out. There is also a great forum of other owners at wmowners.com. They can give you some great advice on all aspects of ownership and ways to sell. Timeshare angels, RPMI, and wmcredits.com are some other reputable companies that specialize in buying and selling WorldMark accounts. Whatever you do, do not pay someone in advance to sell it. If they want an upfront fee it is a scam, you will never hear from them again.

Great question...I'm kind of in the same situation.

I looked into this a few years ago, then did not follow up...and just today received an email from this company about wanting to buy our time share. It's in Kauai, Hawaii, so nice property.

I can forward the email or try to cc here.

HTH!

Here is what they sent:

Because you have previously contacted SellMyTimeshareNOW about selling your timeshare, I am getting in touch with you regarding a bulk purchase of timeshare at Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas North resorts.

I am a Licensed Real Estate Agent who works for Timeshare Broker Services, the Brokerage affiliate of SellMyTimeshareNOW. We currently have a commercial client making offers to purchase multiple Westin Ka’anapali I & II timeshare weeks. If you are still considering selling your Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas North timeshare, and it meets the Buyer’s specifications, this is an easy way to sell your week(s).

When an opportunity like this comes along, it is always one of the simplest ways for owners to resell. With your permission, I could present your timeshare information to the Buyer and then get promptly back to you with the Buyer’s offer. If you accept the offer, the sale moves to closing. PCS Title, Precision Closing Services is already in place to handle title transfer and closing.

This is a straightforward purchase in which the Buyer pays all costs and all closing fees. You, the Seller, will be asked for no money, no deposits, no commission payments, no funds of any type, at any time during this sale.
Typically, Sellers receive a Cashier's Check within 60-90 days after accepting the Buyer’s offer.
This resale purchase is time-sensitive and presented on a first-come basis to Westin Ka’anapali I & II owners who are ready to sell their timeshare.

The commercial Buyer is purchasing in bulk, has committed the funds, and has started the purchase process; it is truly a safe, hassle-free opportunity for you to sell. I really hope you will contact me at 1-###-###-#### to learn more.

We have bought (twice) and sold (once) through an excellent broker on Kauai. I don't know where your timeshare is located, but in most tourist hot spots, there are realtors who specialize in timeshares. If yours is in Hawaii, I can give you the name of our broker - she is wonderful. The good thing about realtors is that at least there are local and national organizations who regulate their activities - but you want to go with someone who knows what they're doing and has the connections to get you a good price for your timeshare.
