I'm trying to make a scrapbook that is going to have more words thank pictures. It will be more of thoughts from many different people about one person and a few pictures thrown in. Most of the usual sites that print photo books (shutterfly etc) do just that - photobooks. I don't want to do a photo book . I need more space for text than pictures. There are sites that let you do a digital scrapbook but I can't find anyway that they will get printed into a nice book so I can use it for a gift. Have any of you used such a tool/site?

I use Snapfish. Go to the LAYOUT section to view the different options. There are options that have the whole page for text. I have found that they have the best deals too. If you don't have any time constraints, wait for a good deal. It is not uncommon for them to do 50% off, or buy one book and get TWO free! It's a great deal and almost always better promotions than all the other sites.
Shutterfly does let you completely customize your pages. The pages can be all text (and they give lots of different text layouts) or just a picture or two per page. I'd still give shutterfly a try and choose the journaling pages. You can also add in as many text boxes as you want that you can completely customize the size etc as well.
I agree with the posts about Shutterfly. I love them because they always have some type of sale or promotion going on. They do have a new feature now that can allow you to do as much text as you want so you can have pages and pages of text and a few pictures here and there if you want. I also love all their new embellishments which are like little "stickers" that you can place anywhere (pictures, quotes, etc.)
I know with Shutterfly you can choose your page layout, including a page of all text.

Mixbook.com is awesome! I've also used Smilebooks before and I like them, as well, but you download their software onto your computer, unlike Mixbooks.

You can manipulate Shutterfly to add in more text boxes and remove photo boxes when you're in edit mode. It's really easy to do, plus all their "stickers" are really scrapbooky.
Shutterfly is great! I also like Mixbook, but Shutterfly seems to have the best deals and I like their books. They are less "cartoony."
Have fun! And search for a coupon before you order. They usually have some deal, whether it's free shipping or 40-50% off.
