T.K.
We got ours at Kohler Farms last year and it was really good... they are in Horsham. We preordered ours, but I'm not sure if you have to....
Happy Thanksgiving!
When we lived out west the Hutterites (similar to Amish) brought in their fresh turkeys to sell around Thanksgiving. They were yummy. Anyone know of where we can get a fresh turkey (not frozen)? We are in Abington and willing to drive a little if needed.

Hi K. ~
We make the trip to Jaindl's Turkey farm in Oreland, PA which is near Allentown, PA.

They sell the turkey's at the Farm as well as some local grocery stores if you can get them ordered in time. The Calendar link on their website will give you the hours of their retail store.
Good Luck ~ M.
I think that you can check Kohler Farms or Merrymead Farm.
Both are in the phone book.
Happy Holiday!!

I order a fresh turkey at Acme. Most butchers or stores have them you just need to order them.
Maybe a farmer's market?
We've gotten ours from Eberly Poultry for the past few years. They have organic, free-range, etc. (http://www.eberlypoultry.com/)
I agree that most butchers and supermarkets should have fresh turkeys. We get ours at Merrymead Farms, which is located in Lansdale. You have to order them ahead of time. Not only are they fresh, but they are raised with no growth hormones or antibiotics. The website is: www.merrymead.com
Hi K.;
I live in South Philadelphia, and we always go to the butchers on 9th street in the Italian Market. I called Cannulis today and they recieved 400 fresh turkeys. The website is http://www.cannulismeats.com/html/poultry.html.
I think you can get them at Whole Foods also but they will be alot more expensive.
happy thanksgiving.
You might try Illg's market up in Chalfont. I make the drive from Abington up there. They have great service and very good meat. Lots of German delicacies, too. I always order my Christmas hams from them and fresh capon. I've never gotten a fresh turkey, but they probably carry them. Google them. I'm sure they have a website.
