My daughter has been selected to attend a national event. She needs to make small inexpensive favors that represent her state. So I was wondering what other people in the country think represents CT.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for the replies. We decided to go with daffodils, because our city has an annual festival every year at a local park that has over 600,000 daffodils, so even though is not exclusively CT, it does represent her home town.

Country clubs? Okay, probably not country clubs...

Maybe you can do a New England type theme - fall foliage?

Or something Yale Bulldogs related? (says the Dartmouth alum, with a shudder... ;)

I have never been to Connecticut, but I hope I can go someday!! When I think of Connecticut, I think of the ocean, because a lot of the romantic novels that I have read throughout the years take place there. Maybe you could do something with a seashell? I'll bet you're very proud of your daughter!! Congrats!

Connecticut is the nutmeg state, so I'd bring little jars of nutmeg.

This is not Connecticut-specific, but when I think of any place in New England, I think of fall colors and American Revolution-era history.

A.m.a.n.d.a - that cracked me up! I actually think of my in-laws, but that doesn't help either. :)

I grew up in Connecticut. I think of big insurance companies, scraping snow off my car all winter, and getting bit by mosquitos all summer. Probably better to go with the nutmeg and fall foliage thing....

Trees and lighthouses, and the band Phish. And also my college roommate from Connecticut who didn't have an accent until cute guys showed up and then she would fake it big time for attention ;)
