When Did Your Son Discover His Privates?

Seriously, I thought I had another year before this happened! My son just turned one and has discovered his penie. As soon as the diaper comes off the hand goes down- which is especially priceless when he is poopy :) I know he is just experimenting with cause and effect- "when I touch myself I can feel it." I'm just curious- how old were your sons when they found theirs? Thanx Mamas!

OMG!! I sooo needed this!! I am rolling on the floor, peeing in my pants. I have wondered the same thing - my son is 13 months and we have been having touchy problems for a while (especially the poopy diaper part!). I have shared the responses with Hubby and we are both practically crying. Thank you so much for asking this!!

Oh yeah... young.

My *favorite* however, was when he discovered how *Stretchy* it can be. He was sitting in the bath and all of a sudden just started pulling and pulling and pulling, he had it easily halfway up his abdomen in a white knuckle death grip. My husband walked in right about then... He SWEARS he didn't faint, that he just slipped. (he fainted, and he'd go deathly pale every other time our son decided to see how far it could go)

Close 2nd (yikes!) moment: when he discovered he could take his finger and poke it all the way inside.

He had great fun with both of these two things for a couple years. Boys.

In utero. We were doing our ultra sound for my youngest and the doc said, "Oh! You must have a boy!" I asked how he knew, since all I saw was gray fuzz. "His hand is between his legs and little girls don't have anything to play with down there!"

After some poking and prodding, we got the baby to move and we got a wonderful picture of my baby in all his glory!

Truly, it's a life long fascination...

I don't remember.
But I do remember how happy my grandson, now 3, was
when he discovered his during a diaper-change.
I commented to his mom (my DIL) that it would be nice
if he could be without his diaper every so often . . .
so it wouldn't be such a rare occasion for him
to have an opportunity to check out his equipment.

In the womb! Not kidding. We have it on tape, he was pulling on it on my first sonogram. When I laughed it just made it look like he was pulling on it faster and faster. I remember looking at my husband and saying, "Well, we know he is your son!"

yep, right on time. I would say my kiddo noticed about 7 months, and would grab when coming out of the tub, or even in the tub. Whoa, maybe even 6 months, lol. And still will put his hand down during diaper changes. Sometimes he will tug hard so I will remove his hand. Other than that, I try to overlook it and not make it an issue.

he's right on track! Boys will pull & stretch it, too, if you let them! Ouch!

For my daycare, I keep a variety of little toys handy....all pun intended! The toys really do help make the diaper changes go quickly......tho'.

10 months old? He was younger than a year, I know! And once they grab on, they never let go! LOL! Now, it's his favorite body part to name.

Seems like at birth for my sons. ;-)
Yes, the poopy diapers make it fun don't they? "No, don't touch that yet! Eewww."

I'm another 'in the womb' mom! During the early ultrasounds (I've had to have quite a few) he was always playing with his feet... Then during one of the later ones the tech was like "Oh... I guess he's found something a little funner to grab!". Lol!

Hopefully, he'll forget about it for a little while after he's born :)

Hilarious! My son was way younger than a year. It really is just a fascination from the beginning! I think not only can they feel it, I think it feels good; even at young ages. I think it's so funny when new Dad's change diapers. They are so delicate and gentle when cleaning the "parts". Luckily I don't think such sensitivity is there for the babies until much later.

Riley J.... thanks for your post. I'm still giggling!

As soon as he could move his arm!! No really, it was pretty early on. I always have to make sure his hands are occupied with something while I'm changing a poopy.
