Ok mamas I need some advice. My OBGYN had my NST(non stress test) cut to once a week because everything been good with the baby and have me in another time during the week for my regular appointment. I posted awhile back when they did the first or second NST I got light headed when I laid. The other girl came in and said "oh no she needs to be laying down" and that's when I got light headed. They did a sugar test that came back good. I ask the other girl the next appointment later that week if it could be my blood pressure medicine that i'm taking?(since some of the blood pressure meds say about not getting up or down to fast that caused light headness) Anyway yesterday I had another NST yesterday and was laid back(not really flat) but had a pillow under my neck. A few minutes into I feel like I can't breath. I don't get light headed or anything just feel like I can't breath. After my 3rd child was born in 2009 I started having panic attacks. My mom thinks maybe that is what i'm having? Throwing myself in a panic attack. When I sit up I feel so much better. Yesterday afternoon I had a appointment with my high risk dr. Kinda same thing happened again during the ultrasound. I try calming myself down and felt a little better. They said the baby was 6lbs 14oz(as of 35 weeks 2days) she said he looks like he has long arms and legs.I don't know if he's big and why I lay down why I can't breath or panic attacks occur because I can't breath. My blood pressure has been good. I'm on a iron tablet because my iron been a little low. I had one or two times where I saw like flashing lights because I think I got up or sit down to fast. I read online about supine hypotensive syndrome? Where pregnant women who lay on their backs their heart pumps less blood, blood pressure drops, feel anxious, lightheaded, and nauseated until they shift their position. I'm going to talk with the doctor about all this.Just wanted to see what yall think? I'm kinda nervous because i'm a csection and worried about passing out etc.lol.

What can I do next?

I am really surprised that your doc didn't warn you about that! When you are very pregnant, all the weight of the baby, fluid, etc presses against the small of your back. I don't know the exact part, forgive me, but I know the weight presses against either nerves or major veins and that causes light headed-ness. When you go in again, ask the doc to put a pillow under one hip so your pelvis is tilted and you are not totally flat. They can absolutely do ultrasounds and NSTs this way. It worked like a charm for me :)

I would ask if you could do it mildly reclined. I never laid flat for a NST during my pregnancy; instead I was offered a recliner and sat. Talk to your doctor to see if there is some flexibility in how this is performed. My guess is that they want YOU not to stress, too. I did google this issue, some sites suggest reclining or laying down are both fine; others only recommend lying down.

Talk to your doctor about this. Seriously.

I had a bit of supine hypotension with my first pregnancy and I would get very light-headed, sweaty, clammy, and almost faint sometimes if I laid on my back too long for anything. The babies...yes....twins, would put so much pressure on the arteries carrying blood to and from the heart that I would start feeling funny. The worst thing that occurred was in the delivery room when Right in the middle of giving birth, the pressure and angle I was laying in caused a huge drop in blood pressure and I almost passed out right in the middle of it all! No kidding! They had to give me a small dose of epinephrine to raise the load pressure so I could do my job and push those babies out! Talk to your OB/GYN and see what he/she thinks about this. Ultimately, the doctor will do what is medically necessary to keep ou comfortable and safe. It could very well be the pregnancy or it could be the panic attacks too. Either way....neither one is good for you or the baby. The fact that the NST is coming back good and your little baby is at a really good weight is fantastic! He's almost 7 pounds so this little guy could be a whopper! Don't worry about how you might feel laying down during a c-section. The anesthesiologist is your best buddy in that operating room. Tell them what you have been feeling and your thoughts on all of it when they come in to introduce the self before the c-section. I can promise you that they have all the control and all the little goodies to make your birth the best ever. They are the Rockstars of the O.R.!
