anything raw - fruit, veggies as well as beans, dairy and fiber foods - I have IBS so my list is quite high.
Mama's doing a personal survey on myself and starting to track the type of foods that will cause my stomach to bloat and become gassy.
So far it is fruit for me, what about you?
What do you take or do to ease the bloating?
anything raw - fruit, veggies as well as beans, dairy and fiber foods - I have IBS so my list is quite high.
Anything to fatty or salty. Asparagus, brocolli, any color of peppers, onion and gluten stuff.
I have to be careful about the types of beans I eat too. Oh, and coca cola. It makes me fart. horrible. It is bad enough my hubby asks me not to drink more then a few sips!
Thats love for you..a man who asks his wife not to drink soda cause her gas is soooo bad;)
Cabbage
Beans
And if you are PMS'ing, it causes bloating. Too. And water retention.
cereals for me, the gluten, I believe
Green vegetables, soda, and salty foods will do it to you.
bread, pizza- i blow up like a balloon, grapes, cabbage, cauliflower, beef, cheese, deli meats, beans, beans, the musical fruit, the more you eat, the more you toot, the more you toot, the better you feel, so eat your beans with every meal... LOL my parents sang that to us all the time, hehe
For me it's popcorn. Not sure why but I am bloated for days after eating it.
pizza, radishes, PMS, and I never drink pop b/c not only do I become bloated, I have the biggest burps - always. Even a sip will cause this reaction. So I stick with tea.
Anything too salty. Also consecutive days of having too many carbs. And any type of soda, even diet. I stay away from all of that - of course I eat carbs but just not like a huge bagel everyday. More like pasta once or twice a week, homemade pizza once a week or every 2 weeks, etc., not all the time.
Sugar gives me gas. No doubt. That's why I rarely use it. Organic sugar use at best. And there are natural sugars in a lot of fruits, so that could be your catalyst.
I think the more organic food items used could make a difference. I have also switched over to raw milk, which isn't available at stores. Even organic milk at stores is still pasteurized or ultra ;pasteurized, and pasteurization changes the enzyme structure, which the body needs.
Did you come to the conclusion that fruit makes you gassy because you ate a whole meal of JUST fruit, or fruit with other things? Fruit needs to digest in 4 hours or less. If its in the stomach longer it will ferment. If you eat dairy or meat products with your fruit you're looking at hours longer to digest, depending on the item, it could bet up to 11 hours. That will make you gassy/uncomfortable! Try eating your fruits in the morning with just grains/nuts and no dairy milk. That should make your tummy happier!
Veggies can do the same thing. Reducing meat and dairy in your diet will make a huge difference! That or keep them separate, eat the veggies at lunch time, fruit at breakfast, and only have meat/dairy at your supper.
Hope this is helpful! Here's a link to a great seminar on healthy eating (http://amazingdiscoveries.tv/c/6/Health/) All backed up with scientific data.
Best Wishes!
Peppers and broccoli do it real bad for me, as well as any "white" carbohydrate
any fake sugar will do it
every kind of "bar" granola, energy, etc.
chocolate
dried fruit
soda
salt
I find I bloat WAY WAY more now as I am getting older-used to be able to eat anything.
Soda and Chinese take-out. :)
It's funny that you should ask this question today! I had something absolutely crazy happen to me last night. I ate a homemade chocolate chip cookie (same recipe I have used for years) and my hands and feet swelled up to the point where it was painful, and my tummy felt bloated too.
SO not fair! :)
Before I started taking probiotics and enzymes (now in the form of homemade drinks, not pills), nearly everything made me bloat, vomit, you name it. Do you have IBS?
I'm so glad you asked this, i have been complaining about the same thing...Its driving me nuts !
Garlic, Milk, Popcorn, raw veggies. grapes, beef.
Some medications, PMS... all sorts of things.. Especially as we "Mature"..
dairy and fried foods
Salad & brocolli....two things I love.
I use to eat a salad every day for lunch. Now I eat one on the weekend and the bloating doesn't really happen. I miss the salads, but my belly feels better and I am getting more protien than I use to as a result and it's helping my weight...BONUS!
Typically anything processed will put a few lbs on me. Sodium and refined sugars. I feel so much better since I've eliminated processed foods from my diet and I definently notice a difference when I do eat those foods.
Anything with a lot of salt makes me swell. I dont know about bloating though. Im pregnant so I try to stay away from salty foods and drink lots of water, I do the same when I pms.
