When my hubs got a snip snip I stayed on the pill to ensure no oopsie until I had a complete hysterectomy and only then was I 100% sure.

If your hubby had the snip snip, he MUST be checked regularly for several months to ensure there are no swimmers left in his system. It took my hubs 6 months to reach that point and I STILL stayed on the pill just in case.

I do not recall any adverse effects when I went off the pill 4 months before I tried to conceive and then again shortly before my surgery.

I know a lot of people who got pregnant in that first year after a vasectomy… I'd make sure your plan is sound.

This one varies so much by person...
I went off of it after 17 yrs.
After a few months, I developed adult acne (at 35) that got progressively worse. My libido went WAY up. WAY UP. I was in the mood so much that hubby was having a hard time keeping up. And I found that ovulation was extremely painful for me during the entire week around it.

So some pros and some cons.
I eventually went back on the pill (even after hubby got snipped) because of the acne and ovulation pain. Both went away within a month of going back on.

My periods were MUCH heavier. And longer.

I eventually went on an IUD just to control them (now they are super light for 2 days).

Nothing much else.

No IUD, stay on the pill, but ask your doc about a lower dosage pill and what he/she suggests for possible side effects and how to control and/or avoid them.

Blessings...
