What's up with the Waterworks Today - Preschooler Boy

So my almost 4 year old is mostly pottytrained - daytime; not so much nighttime - occasional nap accidents if he's sleeping really heavy. He's at the age where he'll "leak" if he's really involved in something and not paying attention, but hardly ever has full on pee accidents. Today, he had 4! Now I think he has a cold or something - green runny nose today, a little run down, but no fever. He's never had a pee day like today - one time he just stood up and peed on the floor - he seemed a bit surprised at the time. Should I worry or does this happen when they're not feeling well? Thanks!

So What Happened?

Whew! Thanks moms! Back to normal and no crazy accidents. Musta just been feeling under the weather and not in touch with the body cues. Thans for the re-assurance!

Either he's sick, has a bladder infection or something happened today to upset him. Give it a day to see what's happening and if it continues go to the doctor. Otherwise don't make it a big deal to him.

I think he just is not feeling well. See what happens when he is feeling
better. Chances are he will be fine.

My 4 year-old has had a couple of random days like this since being fully potty-trained about a year ago. The first time it freaked me out a little too, but then we had about 6 months incident-free...then a random day snuck up. I think it's a combination of the age and him not feeling well. As long as he goes back to what's normal for him right now after a couple of days, I wouldn't worry about it at all. If this continues for a consecutive week, for sure I'd then call the pediatrician and see if something else could be going on. Most likely he's fine. :) Just stay patient with him so he doesn't feel bad about it.
