Mr. Clean's Magic Erasers haven't failed me yet. I haven't cleaned the wall behind the stove, but I have cleaned my garage door and the walls where my kid has "artified" them.
The wall behind my stove is splattered with stains from cooking. I don't know what I can use that'll be strong enough to take off the stains without taking off the paint. I tried using a soapy cloth but that isn't working too well. Any suggestions?

I find that putting undiluted dish soap directly on the cloth works well to cut grease and clean dried on stuff.
Heat the wall with a hair dryer, and with your cleaner of choice it should come off with minimal elbow grease.
I'd try those Mr Clean Magic Erasers. I don't have a wall behind my stove, so I can't tell you what does work.
Not sure whether the paint will handle this (test an inconspicuous spot), but two things work well on greasy splatters:
Citrus oil solvents like CitraSolv. Non-toxic and pleasant smelling, but use gloves because it can draw the oils right out of your hands, too. It's a great multi-purpose cleaner, and can be used straight or diluted in water. (There are now several "orange-oil" brands, and some contain extremely toxic ingredients, so I would recommend reading the label first.)
Rubbing alcohol also does a fairly decent job on dried, hardened greasy spots.
Try Top Job or Spic & Span.
It will be easier if you just wipe it down every time it gets splattered.
This is too funny... I was just thinking about asking this question yesterday! lol Thanks for asking and I will read what these awesome moms have to say about it.....

Dirty Jobs or Blue Wolf...Blue Wolf is my best friend. I haven't found anything it will not clean! Both can be found at Walmart!!!
I use vinegar in a spray bottle.
