I need some advice! As of right now, my period is a couple days late. I have taken 2 first repsonse pregnancy tests and both were negative. I have been pregnant before and I am currently experiencing the same symtoms as before. I have a weird pulling/pressure sensation in my abdomen and my breasts are tender/swollen. I am trying to give it more time but I am so anxious to know for sure. How soon is too soon for me to go get a blood test done? I have been reading stories about woman that have gotten this done and had a negative result on the as well but has ineed tunred out to be pregnant. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

What can I do next?

The blood tests are FAR more accurate and can be done much sooner than even when you miss a period. Just go to your doctor and request a blood test.
I have a friend who never got a positive result on the OTC tests with either of her pregnancies until she was well past the five week mark. She (like many other women) just doesn't produce enough hormones to register right away for whatever reason even though she was CLEARLY pregnant and having symptoms.

You need to wait until you have missed it by 5-7 days and then the pee tests will be just fine. My doctors never did the blood tests, (I have 2 babies) they said the OTC tests work just fine. You can have a false negative but you will never have a false positive. My tests showed pregnant within seconds of peeing on them. good luck

Hi L.,

All I can say right now is to give it more time. It took 3 or 4 days of me being late before the tests registered that I was pregnant. It was because my hormone levels were too low to show up. You can also call an OB office and talk to a nurse who will let you know when to schedule an appointment to see a doctor. Good luck!

Personally, id wait at least one more week before getting too excited. Before I got pregnant this time around I did the same thing a few times. Id be late a couple days, get excited and then bam nothing and then a few days later Id start my period. Unfortunetly, sometimes period symptoms are the same as pregnancy symptoms in the very beginning. this last time I was a couple days late and I told myself...nope im gunna wait so I dont waste my money on a test, then a few days went by and I started feeling nausious at night. Thats when I was like you know....maybe I just might get that test. I got it the next day and sure as heck I was pregnant. But it took about a week and a half so Id say when your at least 2 weeks late then take a test. Good luck, I know how it feels to be excited and then you get let down. Hang in there, it'll eventually happen. It did with me and now im 37 weeks prego ready to pop at any time...finally! :) Hope this helps! ~ L.

Go get a blood test. My sister never registered on the test strips. Never. She was always diagnosed with blood. Myself, I could use them a week early and see the positive sign.
Best wishes
