Hello! I know this is a bit off-topic, but I'm running out of time and I just know you'll have some awesome ideas! I have three different events in the next week that I need to take a snack for and one of them specifically calls for a snack mix of some sort. I would love to hear your favorite snack mix combos so I can choose one and take the same thing to all three events. Thanks for any yummy recipes you can share!

1 envelope (approx. 1 ounce) Ranch salad dressing mix
2 tablespoons dried dill weed
6 cups cereal, a combination of wheat, corn, and rice
1 package (10 ounces) oyster crackers
6 ounces pretzel sticks, broken into 2-inch pieces, or miniature twisted pretzels
1 cup bagel chips, garlic or plain, broken up
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup melted butter

Combine dressing mix and dillweed; add cereal, crackers, pretzels and bagel chips. Combine well. Mix oil and butter, then drizzle over cereal mixture, tossing to coat well. Place mixture in a large paper bag and let stand for about 2 hours, gently shaking from time to time. Store in an airtight container.
Makes about 17 to 18 cups.

i found this online, i think it's the same one my mom uses - it's like chex mix on steroids - YUUUMM!!! and it can make a LOT so you can make it once and take it to all three maybe? ps, my mom always puts cashews in it. it's to die for!

Is white cheddar and regular cheez-its considered a snack mix? That's my favorite :P

I would do raisins, mini pretzel sticks, some dried fruit, and somethin special like chocolate chips. Mmmm 1babygirl gave me an add to this list, some honey roasted peanuts too.. yum.

Or you could make boiled peanuts, so good! Have to keep em warm though. Ugh, now I want some peanuts so bad LOL

Do you have to make it? I would go to Sam's or Costco and buy Chex Mix.

Costco has about 3 different great snack mixes that are not the typical Chex mix (which I love). They do one that is fruits and nuts.. Delish..

Then they have one that is nuts , some fruits and chocolate chips in different flavors.. And then they have an Asian snack mix that is also wonderful. Rice crackers, wasabi peas and nuts..

I love to make the Chex mix homemade and add more hot spice to it.. The recipe can be found on any Chex or Crispix box.. I add more tobasco and more cayenne chili powder.. I always loved the old fashioned that included cheerios..

I know you can buy Chex mix, but I like making my own. I think it tastes better, plus I like that I can add whatever I want to it.

I also like to make it "nut-free" for people who don't care for them, or for kids who can't have them yet. So the recipe itself is pretty interchangeable.

You didn't mention if it was for kids or adults..? But for my 3 yr old and I, I use a simple mix, I basically add raisins, peanuts (or cashew pieces), and granola to a base of either whole grain dry cereal or you could use chex mix. You can also add m&m's and a mini pretezel. You can google recipes too. :)
