You probably won't take me seriously because I also sell this lotion, but I LOVE IT! In the past I got the winter itch every winter and practically tore off my own skin. Not with this. This stuff is light and goes on easy. Absorbs quickly and never feels greasy. It protects and has vitamin B5 to help nails and cuticles. I have sensitive skin and have no problem with this one (hypoallergenic) and it doesn't have a scent. I HATE perfumed things. My skin is smooth and soft.

I make my own lotions using shea butter, jojoba oil, almond oil, vitamin E oil, or coconut and essential oils for scent.

I whip up body butters in my kitchen and add drops of my favorite scents using essentials oils such as lavender, jasmine, lemon, vanilla, lemon, peppermint, etc.

My favorite part is I can make it thin or thick, oily or smooth depending on just how much oil I use. It makes my skin have a radiant healthy glow. I have different formulas for different times of the year. In the winter I go with somthing thicker. I apply it right after the shower. It seems to last all day.

my absolute favorite is victoria secret's ulta moisturizing hand and body cream in strawberries and champagne. it is GREAT lotion, and the scent is amazing!! although a little pricey. i also love one i found at walmart on the bottom row, for about 3-4$ you can get two jars of it, i think it just says vitamin E on it in big letters. from a company called good earth or something? very thick cream and it is great for feet, and right before bed.

I love Bath & Body Works' Triple Moisture Body Cream. It is really emollient without being greasy, and it comes in a bunch of really delicious scents. Also they make a shower gel (more like the texture of a lotion) that is fabulous as well. I have extremely dry skin and these two things really help keep me from drying up and flaking away!

My favorite lotions are from Sensible Addictions. The have three types but my favorite is silky smooth it absorbs quickly and has a little firming properties – which at my age I need. . None of there products contain SLS (sodium laurel sulfate) or Parabens which I think is good, and are excellent quality. They have many fragrances and willing to "customize" a fragrance if you would like. Check out their website www.sensibleaddictions.com .

For when my skin is super dry, cracking, and bleeding, I just use plain old petroleum jelly--a small amount, rub it in well, and it works better than anything. For every day needs, I use Vaseline brand stuff most of the time (cheaper) and it works pretty well. At night, I like Victoria's Secret Jasmine and Vanilla. It is more expensive, but I love the smell and it makes my hands silky, so I just use it before bed so I know it won't get washed off in the dishpan or something.

Hi P.!
I LOVE Hugo Naturals lotions. They are free of harmful ingredients and smell yummy!
I also love homemade lotions like the kind Kimberly F. mentioned. Wonderful stuff! I am going to make my own as soon as my kitchen remodel is done.
I also love Arbonne's Shea butter line. Talk about having silky skin! Wow!

I used to love Renew lotion, but after using it for 5 years, I found that it wasn't as hydrating as I once found. I realize now that it's because it has petrolatum in it, which coats the skin, rather than hydrating it.
I ONLY use products free of petroleum and it's derivatives.

Check out www.cosmeticsdatabase.com
Hugo Naturals scores a 1 or a zero on their scale (least harmful).

Good luck in your search!

Any of the Body Shop's body butters (I love the Vitamin E one because it's not heavily scented). Makes your skin feel as soft as a baby's and isn't greasy. Softness lasts the entire day. I love them, but have to wait for sales to buy them because they aren't cheap.

I am with Patty W. I love Enfuselle hand and body lotion from Shaklee. It has no scent. I HATE scented lotions and smelling it whenever you hands get close to your face. It is absorbed immediately, doesn't sit on the skin. Plus it is anti-aging, so my skin looks younger than my age.
A good source to check to make sure your lotion has no harmful ingredients is http://www.ewg.org

I really like the H20 brand lotions. The face lotion is so moisturizing you would swear it had oils in it -- but it's oil free. I love using their body lotion on my feet (I hate having dry feet!) and the face lotion is great for soft moisture that won't break me out.

I've found the H20 brand lotions and body washes very cheap at TJ Maxx if you want to try them (they are pretty expensive online.)

My absolute favorite is goldbond ultra restoring. It is thick and creamy with a very light scent but not at all greasy. I'm a nurse and my hands get extremely dry from washing constantly and this is the best one I have found.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Johnson's Natural Care lotion for both myself and my baby. It moisturizes for 24 hours and spells divine-like pears! If you're okay with spending a little more, I also adore Origin's Ginger body cream or body oil, but those are just for me.
