My fave of all time is Bain de Terre Green Meadow shampoo and conditioner. It is balancing for all hair types. It doesn't weigh my hair down and smells WONDERFUL. I buy mine at Ulta, but you can also get it offline.
...shampoo and conditioner? Why? How much is it?
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Biolage stuff (green strength) from Target... but I'm still boycotting Target and can't find it anywhere else local. I used to love the Mane and Tail stuff (yeah, the horse shampoo), and I don't know if it's just wicked hot and that's making my hair misbehave, but I'm NOT loving it as much as I remember loving it. I don't want to spend a lot of money on different things I'll never use. I have super long red wavy/curly hair. It needs love. I wash my hair every other day, or every 3rd day.
So what is your favorite shampoo and conditioner and why?
OH and sometime's I use the Fantastic Sam's leave in conditioner, that stuff's great for after the pool/river/ocean/sun!

aveda rosemary and mint - oh, how i LOVE that stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It took me months and months to find the right combo. Funny thing is, once you find a combo you love, you gotta change it up now and then because somehow our hair gets used to it and it loses its effect. Frustrating!
I use Frizz-Eas conditioner (the repair one), it's about 5 bucks. I only use that on the ends. To wash, I just use a cheap clarifying shampoo- anything clear will work, but Suave clarifying is fine and less than 2 bucks for a big bottle of it. I ONLY put that on the roots to wash away oil. I wash my roots with that, rinse, and then massage the ends (anything that would stick out of a pony tail) real good with the conditioner, let that sit for four or five minutes, and then rinse. Works like a charm. Now and then I use a deep conditioning treatment.
They have Biolage at Walgreens.
I like Herbal Essence, Dove, Pantene, and Garnier Fructese. All are very moisturizing and keep my thick over processed hair looking soft and shiny and bouncy. I have to trade off now and then. You know how once you run out of your favorite and use something else you get a whole new bounce to your hair?
Have you tried Amazon?

Or a beauty supply shop or Ulta?
Infusium. I have very coarse, frizzy hair and have tried EVERYTHING! I keep going back to infusium moisture shampoo and infusium frizz control conditioner. THEY WORK! And are not expensive and can be found everywhere. FYI - Biolage is at Walmart both in the store and, if they have it, at the in-store salon.
I alternate weekly with Sebastian and Paul Mitchell for color treated hair. i just like to change it up and not use the same thing all the time.
I do, however, use the Chi silk infusion daily on my wet hair and I love the way it makes my hair feel.
I have straight as a board hair, one length, which comes about midway of my bra strap in back. It is very dark, very much American Indian which is my heritage.
Why the boycott? Just curious... no judgements. I boycott Walmart/Sams... I'd walk a mile in the heat to stay away from that brand. HATE them and how they treat employees and con consumers.
My favorite is Trader Joe's brand. Unfortunately Trader Joe's isn't in many states. We all use it, including my 2 year old that has wavy/curly hair. I'm not allergic to it which is nice as I am allergic to so much of everything else.
If you have a store by you it's worth a try.
I usually spend a lot on my shampoo and conditioner. I have used Bumble and Bumble (sephora), Ojon (sephora), and shu uemura (salon) which are all between $50 and $100 for both shampoo and conditioner. I got some garnier from the store and when my hairdresser/friend asked what I had been using she got upset with me and said all the grocery store brands are made up of over half (or more) of alcohol which is really bad for your hair and dries everything out. She got me turned on to Enjoy which is about $35 for both. It works really well.
I use Head and Shoulders. I feel so "odd man out" you all use such fancy stuff..lol
R....why are you boycotting Target? I love that store...tell me what they did???
I have long, naturally curly hair and I only use the 2 in 1 stuff. Its quick and easy and I don't have any problems with it. I mostly use the Pert Plus but have used other brands. I usually get whatever is on sale since I"m not too picky.
I use sulfate-free moisturizing shampoo/conditioner. They have organics (brand) and it works great on my hair. I have thick red curly hair too. I go to the hair college every now and then and get a deep conditioning too. Like someone said Walgreens sells Biolage brand.
I have very fine wavy hair, so anything that weighs it down is out. I have actually found that the Pantene 2-in-1 works well and I really like it! When I was growing it out for my wedding (and wasn't paying a mortgage or childcare), I used the "B-long" products and they were amazing! I had LONG, healthy hair at my wedding, but that stuff was $20 per bottle! Yikes!
I Love the L'Oreal Sulfate free shampoo & conditioner....
love the way it smells and my hair feels afterwards....
Hair is probably misbehaving because it's 70%+ humidity!!! I've got mine pulled back - sweat when I go outside just to let the dogs in.....so it looks like I've not taken a shower and washed my hair today! YUCK!!!
