Hello Moms, is me again asking question like if I would be a first time Mom! The Dr's are always asking me if this is my 1st Baby! But no, I have a 10 year old Son, and my Daughter is 8 yrs old & my 8 week old Baby Boy, so its been years so I really don't remember! My question is what is an 8 week old Baby doing around this time! I was reading last night about Baby development & some Mom's post that they're Babies have been rolling over & even (army crawling) since the 3 week. 1 mom even said Her Daughter could stand up straight & She is just 2 months. Anyone else out there? Because My Baby is not doing any of that yet! So if your Baby is please let me know what did you guys do to help! Of course I really don't mind to be honest if my Baby is still been a Baby, is been so long since I had a Baby that I wanna enjoy mine, but just wondering if this is normal now in days to be doing this kind of stuff so soon! & like always thanks Mom's!
Oh & just incase, I'm nursing My Baby! Just incase:)

What can I do next?

Those mothers are lying and one-upping each other.

At 8 weeks about all my baby did was scream his full head off because he was colicky. Sorry I don't have much to offer because, apparently, my baby was a slacker unlike these other mother's superbabies!

Um, no, none of that is normal for 8 weeks!!!!

Here's my ped's guide to development - it's been pretty spot on for both of my kids.

Well, I don't believe any of what the other mother's report. A 3 week old rolling over and crawling? Seriously, not even possible. Those parents are dreaming....

What I remember at 8 weeks??? Eat, sleep, poop, pee, gaze at mommy, spit up, take a bath, walk in the stroller to the park, start over. We were still learning to nurse as I recall...that was always a slow process for us.

Don't compare your beautiful baby at this age...just love on him.

At 8 weeks babies are just starting to smile, and not all babies are even doing that till a little later. Rolling over is not till 4 months or later and crawling is not till 6 months or later. Your little guy is just fine!

Our son didn't do much of anything at 8 weeks. Roll around a bit, hold his head up, babble. They are all different. It just needs love and cuddling. Our son loved funny faces and voices, and when we made him laugh. Don't stress over it. It'll develop just fine through close contact with you.

What you are reading... are about Moms who say their child was earlier in doing things.
This is not, the everyday norm.
So don't get affected by it.
DO NOT, get affected by it.

Your baby is ONLY 8 weeks old.
No worries.
Your baby is fine.

Put it this way: Einstein, didn't talk until he was 3 or 4 years old. AND he is a Genius!
Just because another baby does things 'earlier' than yours, does not make that baby better nor smarter nor more mature, than yours.

Hey M.,
I don't think my little guy could roll over until he was about 4 months. Crawling, and standing up (without support) would be highly unusual in a baby your age. My guy started crawling at 8 months and was walking at 10.

My baby boy just turned 7 weeks and he can ''stand'' straight up on his legs if I hold him up. He's very strong and if he ''sits'' on my lap he'll push himself up to stand. He's also already holding his head up by himself. He was born a week and three days ''late'' so maybe that has something to do with it. But regardless, he's a very big boy already tipping the scales at 12 pounds, ounces and 22 and a half inches long. I'm breastfeeding as well:)

Don't get too bogged down in what babies "should" be doing, or what others say their kids are doing. (Competetive parents drive me nuts.) He'll do things in his own time and in his own way. Just enjoy. :)

I still BF my daughter (She just turned 1yrs old) she did things at her own speed. She didn't really like tummy time. Turning over took sometime but she did it. Everything got done at her speed- turning over, crawling, teeth coming in, walking.

Live in the moment cause by the time he's 1yrs you'll be wondering where the time went. I bet you ask yourself that all the time w/your 10yr old & your 8yr old.

My baby girl turned eight weeks today and she is basically being a baby, which I plan to enjoy since she is my last one. She does hold her head up and is now more interactive, such as smiling and responding to her mobile. Enjoy babyhood, its is so shortlived!

Hello, I think that some mothers are really stretching what their babies are doing. In order for a two month old to stand straight, you have to hold them under their arms and hold them up. As far as crawling, they are really just squirming. Every baby learns different things at different times. There is no "normal" age for them to do certain things. There are stages of development. Most babies learn to crawl by the time they are about 8 months old, but not all. Most babies learn to sit up by that same age or before. Your baby is just fine. I had two neighbors with babies when my first one was born. My baby was the oldest, the next one was 6 weeks younger than mine and the next one was 6 weeks younger than that one. The one who had a baby right in the middle of the other two kept comparing hers with the younger one and making the mother feel as though her baby was not learning at the right stages. I took her aside and explained that 6 weeks was a big difference in their ages and told her that her son was just fine.
Good luck with your precious family.
