I use the brand Verbatim and haven't had any trouble with them at all. But, always make at least 2 copies and keep them in separate locations to avoid a total loss.
I finally got my dream camera last summer, and of course, my computer is now slowing down noticably because of all the huge-file pictures on it. I need to get them onto CDs to free up space on the computer, but I'm clueless on what kind of CDs to buy. I had looked at some and assumed that I should by data ones instead of music ones, but then a friend showed me some she had that were especially for photos. Do you have to have ones specifically for photos? And what are the best, and worst, kinds. The thought of losing my photos freaks me out, so I want to do what is best, but also not spend extra money if it isn't necessary. Thanks!

My bf is the one that does all the storing of pics n such. He either saves them on our external hard drive or you can also store them on dvds!
It's best to use archival cd's. Blessings~C.
Hi !
Photos stored in CDs will not last a lifetime. What we do is save it in an external hard drive.
Hope that helps !

I am a professional photographer, so I am very experienced with this one. :o) There are a few different options, and using a few of them really is a good idea. One thing I always suggest is looking into online companies for photo sharing. A lot of people don't even think about that when you load those online to share with others it is also storing it for you. Look into some good companies for photosharing, there are a ton that are free for up to a certain amount of space. The other thing you can do as mentioned is an external hard drive, which is an excellent idea. But if you don't want to go that route, which many don't, is to get good photo archival cds. There are gold cd's, these are by far the best. They are more out of pocket, but knowing your images are still there is so worth it. I wouldn't put everything in one place, always have 2 back ups. It seems like a pain, but losing precious memories is much more painful.
