Kudos on wanting to get in shape and healthier.
I hit a roadblock several years ago and wasn't able to lose weight no matter what I tried, and I tried just about everything.
In Feb. or 2008, I went to see a new doctor (who also happens to be my BFF's sister). She is an Integrative M.D. who prefers to treat her patients with diet, supplements, and exercise before turning to medications. Through her research on proper diet for health, she came up with a standard plan that works for everyone.
I started a facebook group for the plan, and my doc is a member of the group. The group is very new, and only has about 15 members at this point. Dr. Sandy will be posting messages about some of the science behind her diet some time next week, but the basic outline of what to eat and how to move is already posted on the group Discussion board. Once I started following Sandy's plan to the letter, my health improved dramatically, and the extra cool bonus was that I lost almost 40 lbs without trying! My blood pressure went from 135/80 to 100/60, my blood sugar levels went from pre-diabetic to ideal, and my body mass index went from terrible to ideal as well.
I had lived with the chronic pain of migraines an fibro for almost 30 years, and both are totally under control now. I haven't had a migraine the entire time I've been on this plan, and I used to have them as often as twice a week. My allergies have virtually disappeared, and when they do flare up, just a quick nasal spray or OTC decongestant takes care of everything. I LOVE THIS PLAN! ;-D

P.S. This plan was originally designed for Sandy's patients in her pediatric practice. It worked so well for them that their parents started making appointments with her, so now she has a private family practice.
