I agree, Weight Watchers works wonders. You can still eat what you enjoy and you learn how to control portions without feeling deprived.
I have 3 girls 8,6, and 5 and I have tried everything from diet pills to changing my eating habits and exercising and still can't lose weight. I don't know what else to turn to. I feel like my skin is stretched out to the point where it isn't going to go back unless it's surgically fixed. Any suggestions from anyone would be appreciated. I need to lose my lower stomach. Thanks.

I'm doing really great on Weight Watchers. It's the first thing that has worked for me and I feel like I can live with the way I'm eating long term. I've lost 17 lbs. in 10 weeks, it's never been this easy for me.
I know you've said you've tried everything, but we all know that with a combination of diet and exercise you CAN and WILL lose weight. If you can afford it, join a gym and hire a personal trainer who is also a nutritionist. If not, like myself, go online and check out Self Magazines "Reach Your Goal". I swear by it. But, with any diet and exercise regime you have to be fully committed or you WILL NOT see results. I lost 15 lbs with "Reach Your Goal". But I assure you, I followed the diet and exercise to a T for the first 4 weeks, no cheating!

I've been walking about 20-30 mins. on my tredmill and cutting out soda's. I have lost a few pounds here and there but not enough to make my clothes fit better. My sister in law cut out soda's and walks about an hour or so and she lost almost 20 pounds! I am lazy about exercising so I KISS (keep it simply simple). That's my way and I try to eat healthy when I can. Good luck finding something that can work for you. If I could afford Weight Watchers and the YMCA that's where I'd be but I have to make due with the resources I have.
If you have the same thing my girlfriend did...Her lower stomach was hanging, she had to have plastic surgery....Her doctor told her that that was the only fix for it and she now looks great....No cure for strechtmarks though.
I'm with you, H.. I had my 3rd child 2.5 years ago and I actually weight more now than the day before I delivered him. I try to blame it on the c-section and busy lifestyle (I AM a mom of 3 and a home daycare provider and have no help from ANYONE, including my in-laws who live in the attached apartment!!) Lately, I've been more uncomfortable with myself. I have always known my husband is displeased with my weight, but I didnt really care. Lately, I really would like to have more energy for my kids and would like to start losing weight NOW before I get bigger and may need surgery to get things back the way they should be, like the excess skin should I actually lose weight.
I hate the mirror. I do not feel as fat as what I look like in the mirror.
I like to SAY "I tried everything", but in all honesty (to you 'strangers', lol), I havent stuck with anything and though I'm busy with kids all day, I don't do any form of exercise per se. I have videos but make excuses for myself. I love bellydance, but have the excuse that I don't like to do it alone...
I do have a thyroid condition... and am borderline diabetic... and have depression issues. Reasons to have gained and kept weight... but also reasons I SHOULD TRY to get it off.
Check with your doctor to see if you have any think like thyroid, etc... and get the doctor's opinion on your particular needs.

It is a constant battle. Although, finding time for you is rough. I am glad you asked this question. You are not alone. Weight watchers is what I am trying. Portion control and trying to eat small frequent meals to help with your metabolism. Best of luck to you!

Let me tell you right now WE ALL NEED HELP when it comes to post child birth weight loss! I know there are the slight few who can knock the baby weight off easily, they were blessed with a fabulous metabolism....most of the rest of us have to struggle ! ESPECIALLY after several kids.
I am here to tell you I went to Dr. Cesar Lara here in Clearwater to have him prescribe me the weight loss plan ( including pills) that got my extra 25 lbs. off, finally! I will also tell you I know MANY women who also go to weight loss Dr.'s for help BUT THEY DON'T TELL!!!I have had several ask me if they can buy my left over pills ( I don't sell them, it's illegal) I guess they are ashamed that they need the help but I will tell you I DID it and I am NOT ashamed to say I needed the help ( especially the pills) to finally get the weight off. It costs about $275. for the start up (ekg, blood work, physical) and then it's about $75 a week to continue! IT IS ABSOLUTELY WORTH THE MONEY!!! Cut out any and every other luxury in your life so you can afford to do this! You will feel like $1 million, LISTEN TO ME LADIES. I GOT THE HELP I NEEDED AND yes I TOOK DIET PILLS! I am not wonder woman and I needed help, I am just a Mom who wants to feel good and look go for myself and my family.

The recipes help me because I eat several calorie/fat conscious desserts a day and I'm still losing weight. Choose no sugar added and fat free items like sugar free Jello pudding with fat free milk, Slim a bear ice cream sandwiches 100 calories and 1.5 grams of fat, no sugar added fudgesicles 40 calories 1 gram of fat makes a big difference. Once I started eating smarter desserts, I felt satisfied and working out 4-5 days a week started to produce results. The book has recipes for everything including entrees and holiday meal swap outs. Hang in there. I know it's tough but you can do it.

It's so hard to loose the weight. I've found that if I have an appointment (a scheduled class) at the gym then I will go. There are lot's of gyms that are not intimidating and have several classes available at any time. I've just found that if I put the classes that work for my life on my calender I will go and get an hour of real workout time. The trainers teaching the classes will push me better than I push myself if I'm working out alone. Also, most gyms have a kids club available with your membership. I've found that when I work out I'm not depressed, I have more energy and I feel like eating healthy. I know how hard this is, but once you make the time for yourself you will feel so much better. I think after taking care of everyone else in our lives all day, we run out of time for ourselves. We need to remember that we keep our family together and deserve to take care of ourselves.

Hi: I am using the Slim fast powder in the morning, and frozen diet for lunch and dinner (with salad and 1/2 cup of fruit). I cook for my family. At first was hard but I have lost 13 pounds in 5 weeks. The doctor told me to consume 1,500 calories daily. Hope this works. C.
I know how you feel. The key is to drink lots of water and no or little soda. My daughter told me to use hydroxy. Using hydroxy, caffenefree, and drinking water has helped us both. She has lost a ton of weight. I was over 200 and now I am down about 45 lbs. That's in about 4months. Now my oldest daughter is on the Hydroxy and she is loosing. I still eat whatever I want and drink whatever I want. Did slow down on the Dr.Pepper though. Hope this helps you. I also stop after every two bottles for a couple of weeks. The body will get use to the pills and the weight off will stop or slow down. Starting back up helps to restart the motobolism.

I've been eating less ever since I started paying attention to how many people in the world are literally starving to death--instead of spending extra money on junk food, I can save it and send donations so that children won't starve. In Haiti, kids get as little as one or two spoonfuls of cereal a day. This is the best weight loss plan I've ever done because I am helping people and not focusing overly on myself. I also get a lot of exercise by taking my 8 month old twins out in their stroller. Whenever I can (and this means LATE night or EARLY morning...the only times it's possible to get there) I go to the gym...it takes committment and discipline but I think the best motivation is if you can genuinely help others by controlling your own overeating.

I started last Tuesday and have lost 4 lbs with no exercise. You are allowed 20 pts or stars a day. Buy as much fat free stuff as you can and start eating like lean cuisine dinners, Dannon light and fit yogurt, fat free snake bars, any frozen veggies, low fat bread etc. Use the calculator to see how much points each item you eat through out the day has. I eat for breakfast maybe faina hot cereal with splenda on it and a dab of low fat margarine-3 pts or the fake no fat egg in a carton and turkey bacon with a piece of low lite wonder bread ( whole wheat)5pts. buy fat fee cheese and have a toasted cheese sandwich for lunch 5 pts, lean cuisine is 5 pts, salad with lowfat dressing is 1pt, some types of crackers are low in caleries and fat. I get walmart brand veggie crackers 12 =1 pt. You just have to cook regular meals for the rest of the house hold and stick to watching calories and fat content in what you eat. I have lost 4 lbs in a week. You get a bonus 35 points at the end of each week so if your are careful, you can eat 1 home cooked meal.

Try eating like a diabetic. 6 small meals a day. The traditional b,l,d you are alloted 45 carbs. The three additional snacks, you get 30. That said, the only way to lose the sagging skin, which is slowly going away on me but still driving me crazy, is sit-ups. You have to tone those muscles again. Turbo Jam is a fun (really, more like dancing, cardio workout. The Pilates videos are great for toning. Have your girls do them with you, Turbo jam is really upbeat. Pilates is more relaxing, yet great results.
