Does anyone know of a good appetite suppressant that won't give you jitters? I do good all day long, but from 4pm to about 8pm, i am so hungry, and sometimes will eat everything in sight! LOL

Maybe something natural?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Wow! I love the water and almonds idea. I love almonds! I know i am not starving.... it seems like i am, but i know that i am not. It seems like that time of the day is hard for a lot of people. I also am going to try the big glass of water on my home from work. I work part time, so when i am home, snacking is all i want to do! Thanks everyone for the wonderful ideas!

I don't know of any appetite suppressants but I keep gum on hand and that seems to help, especially if you use one with longer flavor, I like the Trident minty sweet. Good luck!

I get the SAME way. But when I tried any kind of suppressant (natural or otherwise) I ended up awake ALL NIGHT LONG - argh.
so I just stopped, but what I did start doing was get busy during those times of the eveninig - drink a lot of water on the way home from office and map out how my evenining was going to go so I didn't leave a lot of free time for mindless snacking.
good luches/later lunches (aroudn 1 pm) also helped me. Stock up on good snacks too - JIC - a lot of melons, fruit, cherries, etc.
Hope that helps from one afternoon snack gal to another:)

Have you heard of Cinch? The products were designed to help reduce cravings. It works for me! The products help keep your blood sugar stable so it reduces cravings and helps regulate your blood sugar. 2 things you could start with are the multivitamin "3 in 1 Boost" that increases your metabolism and helps cut cravings an gives you the nutrients you need. Also, their pomegranate tea - i like having it midafternoon to keep up my energy but it doesn't give the jitters. And they are ALL NATURAL! :)

This likely is not the answer that you want, but I don't think appetite suppressants are a good idea. Eat a high fiber dinner to keep you full longer and keep yourself busy in the evening. If you need something have a cup of chamomile tea or something. For me eating in the evening is often a result of boredom or habit and if that is the case an appetite suppressant won't work anyway.

Hi there!
the almond idea followed by a glass of water should really help. I've done this in a pinch as I struggle too with feeling hungry and then grazing...ugh.

I asked a similar question and got similar responses. For something to take what I find is working is called Diet 360. It is a holistic tablet. Look it up. There are no preservatives or stimulants in it. I find that it does take the edge off the hunger. You take three a day 30 min before each meal. Fill in your lunch and dinner with veggies to feel more satisfied. I just did this last night and it helped. Best wishes...I hate the weight loss journey but love the results.

You have to figure out what works best for you and your cravings and the times that you are having them. I have been drinking warm lemon water first thing in the morning and it has cut into my bloating. On the way into work I drink a glowing green smoothie that is full of greens and fruits, that keeps me full into my morning snack. I try to eat a big salad before I eat my lunch and dinner sometimes just the salad will do and that way I am not getting full on the meal itself which helps cut into my calories. I can say that the GGS has given me more energy and is having awsome effects on my skin.

Figure out what you can replace with healthy foods and snacks, if you like chocolate replace it with dark chocolate or pudding snacks ect..
Easier said than done I know good Luck!

There are no healthy or natural appetite suppressants. Drink a glass of water and pop in a piece of sugar-free gum... then go for a walk! The water will create the sensation of "fullness", the gum will create the sensation of "chewing" and the exercise will give you something to do.

Don't keep snacks in the house and when you find yourself mindlessly "eating" or "grazing"... find something to do... walk, call a friend, throw in a load of laundry, take the kids outside... whatever. It sounds like you are eating during "downtime" not b/c you're "starving".

Have smaller meals throughout the day rather than three "larger" meals. If that's not possible, then have a high protein snack (like cheese and crackers) around 4:00 if that is your "trigger time".

Lots of veggies. And make sure you are getting all the vitamins and minerals you need - a multivitamin might be a good idea. That can help curb the hungries/cravings.
Make sure you are getting enough to eat earlier in the day. It's easy to go all morning and half the afternoon on very little, but it catches up. Around 300 cal for breakfast, 300 for lunch, and a 100-200 cal snack in there (healthy food like fruit) is a good plan. That leaves around 700 cal for afternoon snack and dinner (based on 1500 cal diet, average if you're active/working out and trying to loose weight, but your goals may need some adjusting).

Finally, many people have been taught to eat for reasons other than hunger. Boredom, emotions, or even just habit, can make us want to eat when we aren't really hungry. Thirst can disguise itself as a desire to eat. Drink a glass of water, distract yourself with other activities, and maybe even chew a piece of gum.

(Appetite suppressant pills are really not a great idea. They don't necessarily have to go through rigorous testing before hitting the market and there have been way too many, in my opinion, that were thought safe and we suddenly find out how many problems they cause!!)

Hi F..
If you have a protein and good carb (veggie/fruit) it will work and you won't need a supplement.
What's likely happening is your glucose levels have plummeted post lunch. Or you need something healthy that keeps you full and not doing the ups and downs hunger roller coaster.
If you want to use a supplement- we have a good one with no stimulant called snack defense. You can find it at thinkslim.org - or just email me at ____@____.com and I can send you some info after I'm off call next week.
We also have one with a green tea-- but I don't recommend that for most after 4pm- called Total control.

Have a great memorial holiday.
