I just recently quit weight watchers. Its a good plan, but the point system gets on my nerves. I am wanting a good appetite supressant that DOESN"T speed up your metbolism. I can't do metbolism boosters, they make me feel weird. I just need something to help me not be hungry. I have noticed if I eat less and exercise I will loose. I am over 100 lbs overweight. I can't afford high dollar weight loss plans! I would prefer something natural. Does anyone have anything they have used and had success with it?

I don't believe in appetite suppresants. The healthy thing to do is to eat. Your body needs fuel for energy. The choices of the foods that you make are what is important. Healthy fruits and vegetables are great to snack on, you can snack on string cheese or peanut butter crackers. The key is to get a good balance of protein and healthy carbs to help make you feel full.

I've lost 65 pounds (started at 225) and my husband has lost 105 pounds (started at 300+) and we've done it all through counting calories. It's way easier than points and after a while, you will quickly learn what foods keep you fuller, longer (mainly high-fiber foods, like apples, green/leafy veggies, high-fiber/low-sugar cereals, light popcorn, etc) or what foods give you "more bang for your calorie buck". I highly recommend using a free calorie counting website, just to get started and figure out how much you need to lose to be at a healthy weight and how many calories you should eat in a day. I've used http://caloriecount.about.com/. After a few weeks, you'll get the hang of it and you won't even have to think about it. For example, I try to eat about 1300 calories a day and I break it up into 3-4 meals a day: 250 breakfast, 400 lunch, 650 dinner (or 400 dinner & 250 evening snack). The calorie counting website I recommend also have forums if you have a question or need support as well as recipe ideas. I also highly recommend signing up for the Hungry Girl emails (just google it) and/or buying the Hungry Girl cookbooks. They have TONS of low-cal recipes that taste great. They love to take yummy restaurant items and make them healthy.

If you need any other hints or tricks or ideas, let me know. I've learned a lot in this weightloss journey and I'm always happy to share what I've learned.

I have struggled with my eating since I was a teenager. I'm in the best shape of my life right now (age 33), but I still struggle with the occassional eating in excess--and it's NOT because I am hungry for food. I don't mean to step on any toes here, but are you sure you are truly HUNGRY when you turn to food? Appetite suppressants may curb physical hunger, but they don't help fill the void that food is sometimes used to fill.

Good luck on your journey.

I do have a natural plan that works. It's a serious program and you do buy two of your meals each day in the form of shakes and bars. It doesn't cost that much when you figure how much you save on the 2 meals you no longer have... although it sounds like it would be more than you would be comfortable spending..... so, I would suggest the best appetite suppressant is eating a balanced diet with protein at specific intervals during the day. You shouldn't be hungry if you do this. I sell and use many nutritional products. One is a protein shake for example. If I drink that shake at 4pm then I do not snack after lunch and am not famished at dinner, and am able to eat lightly. However, if I miss that shake I become ravenous and make lousy food choices.

I generally have a protein shake for breakfast too. mid morning you could have fruit and a couple of nuts if you like (careful on portions). A healthy lite lunch. The 4 pm shake. A healthy lite dinner. With exercise that keeps me at a good weight. This is not a diet really. It's learning a new way to eat. Not easy, I know.

Best of Luck!

Hi T.,

Hope you have good luck with whatever you do,because I am a RN and have seen not so good things with increase weight.

I am trying www.caloriesprinkle.com My friend told me about it and she lost 22# in 45 days and went from size 12 to size 8. She told me you have to drink lots of water!!!!! I can email you if you would like and send the ingredients or go to www.weightlosscenter.net and you can see the CORE 4 products Cheat is what you sprinkle on your food and it removes 25% of the calories, It is great, I just started July 6th and have lost 6 # and 2 inches in my waist. some loose more, the thing is you have to drink LOTS of water and you have to eat. You eat your own food, and that is great. I have been on all those , but this is natural , I would be more than happy to visit or even let you talk to my friend who lost the weight. I personally know about 10 people curently on this and have lost lots of weight.
Good luck,
T.

The most natural appetite suppressant that I know of is to drink lots of water and eat lots of fiber, especially vegetables since they are low calorie. Look up fiber in food online and find the best choices for you. Try to eat 30 grams of fiber per day and drink your weight divided by 2 equals how many of ounces of water to drink per day.

Continue your water and fiber, green tea has also been reported to help with metabolism and with appetite. They sell green tea pills but in my opinion it did not work. I drink green tea and it curbs my appetite. Hope this helps.

Kuddos to you for looking for natural products. I have a friend that is a Phen/Fen victim and so many products have those dangerous pieces to it under different names. I used Arbonne's Weight Loss Chews, NRGGo3 Fizzing Beverage Tablets and Protein shakes. Chews are 1/2 WW point and wear me out just chewing the thing - flavors are chocolate, chocolate mint, pink lemonade (summer only) and cafe mocha. Protein shakes make me feel just a full for equiv. of 2 WW points- vanilla or chocolate. I have ingredient lists if you need to check for things that make you feel weird. Free memberships for July only, too, with a wholesale discount available even if you don't sell it.
Let me know if I can help. God bless you on your health journey.

Extra info if you are interested. Arbonne's nutritional products follow these strict standards: no artificial sweetners (uses Stevia), no artificial flavors or colors (real chocolate, real vanilla), no soy protein (impairs thyroid function and is estrogenic), low carb, no sat. fats or trans fats.
