Hello! My sister-in-law is getting married March 1. I am wondering where to buy an outfit (a suit or something else dressy) for my son who will be 5.5 months old. I am going to be a reader at the wedding and want something nice to wear. I'll be nursing, so I am thinking of a wrap dress. Any ideas on where to find something cute without spending a lot?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I ended up getting my son a cute outfit (khaki's, button up shirt, and sweater vest) from Babies R Us. I didn't need to nurse my son at the wedding (I fed him before the reception and 1 bottle there) so I got to wear a cute dress from Macy's!

I saw some wrap dresses at Ann Taylor for prices as low as $29.88, they were really cute. You could also check out suits or 2 piece options there as well.

This may push you out of your zone a bit, but I would highly recommend going to one of the many shops along Lake St. that has fancy dress in the window. They usually have baby suits, too.

because of easter coming up there are tons of cute things out for little ones right now. I saw some at burlington coat factory the other day. They looked like little suits minus the jackets. Very resonably priced.

I've found wrap dresses to be hard to nurse in if you want to retain any sort of modesty (unless you have a nursing cover-up or something like that) since you'll have to expose most of the breast for your son to nurse.

Look into a two-piece outfit - a skirt and a blouse made of a stretchy material that doesn't need to be tucked. Or try a suit.

A few years ago I would have been able to say "you'll definitely find something like this at Casual Corner" but I don't know where to find these things now that they're closed. Does anybody know?

Hi S. -
I found a lot of stuff off of ebay when my sister got married last year. You can also find rentals from Gaga's too - check their website. I know they have kids dressy outfits and possibly for you too. I agree with the others that a 2 piece outfit would be easiest while nursing. I am currently nursing too and recently went on vacation and found with some of the dinner parties that we went to a 2 pc outfit with a jacket was most convenient for me. I didn't nurse in public but it was still easy for me to nurse and then get back to the party quickly.
