I'd say $100-150. We just gave $150 to a co-worker of my husband's and didn't attend because it was out of town and couldn't make it. Had we made the wedding it would've cost a lot more for us to attend so we go a bargain by not attending!
We have a wedding coming up for my husbands co-worker. He only works with her and no outside activities. How much would be a good amount to give (money) for this friend/co-worker? There is a ceremony and the reception is at a golf club.

this is regional but, 100-150 in the chicagoland area
The standard is $100. You want to at least cover your plate . Actually it will probably cost them more than $50 a person but $100 is still fine. Have a great time !
If you and your husband are financially sound. No late bills, no wondering where you would get money for an emergency situation. Don't go send apologies and a card. If you are okay then figure out the cost approx the cost per plate and if you can do a little extra so generally between 75 to 125 a couple. If you prefer a present get a gift card for a place they have registered at as usually after an occasion the couple will receive a coupon discounting any items not received on their registry.
What are you able to give? If only 50, then 50....if 75, 75....if 100, 100.
You could also get something from their registry.
We normally give $125, hoping that is enough to at least cover our plates.
