Hi everyone,

My mom and her boyfriend went to Bermuda for two weeks and came back married! We are all very happy for them. They did this because there was no way for all of us to get together at one time. My husband and I bought them a very nice gift, but my husband wants to include a gag gift as well. Neither of us can come up with anything. Anyone have any ideas? My mom is in her late 50's and her "new" husband is in his early 60's. They are both retired and stay very busy. Thanks for any input!

R.

You could throw them a pretend wedding with a pretend minister (like a child in priest outfit -it's holloween I'm sure you could find something) to perform the ceremony - but still make it cute with a simple arch and some wedding bells, ballons to fill the room and a cute poem to welcome her new husband and celebrate their union.
Good luck..
PS...I like the idea of a box with one thing on it but has a nice gift inside....maybe it could be a fredricks of hollywood or victoria secret box - the may get red in the face for a few seconds before opening the box.

R.. You and your husband know better there sence of humor, but it will be nice a nice present that they can appreciate and remeber there special moment. Marriage is something beautiful. A nice suprise party with a cake with families and some pictures or a nice resturant dinner of congratulation. Share there happiness.

I think you should forget the gag-gift idea, and just get them a very nice gift. I once gave a gag-gift just as a joke and I dont think it was appreciated, and they did not think it was 'funny' just because I did, and it is sort of irreverant and making fun of their marriage. You will not regret giving a nice gift but you might very well regret the 'gag' gift and be embarassed by it (or embarass them).
If you still want to make some sort of a joke, you could put a nice gift inside a box that says 'furry handcuffs' but then its really a nice gift.
