We Used Liquid for Hand Dishwashing in the Dishwasher. What Do I Do to Clear It?

I found the dishwasher had completed the cycle and there was water and suds on the kitchen floor. We cleaned that up and wiped out the dishwasher, but what else do I need to do to get rid of suds inside the machine?

What can I do next?

Running it through a rinse cycle empty a time or two should clear the soap out of it.
You could add a cup of vinegar into it - it won't hurt anything.

I did that once as a kid. I recall helping my dad clean the floor, but I don't remember anyone being concerned about "cleaning" the inside of the dishwasher. I would think simply running the cycle would do the trick. If it doesn't, I agree that running and empty cycle should take care of the problem.

We had a babysitter do this, we cleaned up the kitchen and that was it, never another issue

do as B says and run the rinse cycle a few times, but turn the heat off. cold water clears away soap residue. wash hot and rinse cold.

just run the cycle through with water, and maybe some white vinegar.
