Has anyone ever had a military relative purchase discounted tickets to WDW, but the military person was not going to be with you at DW? I would like to do maybe 2 quick days at Disey World, post disney cruise if I could get discounted tickets. TIA

My mom buys discounted tickets at MWR on base all the time for friends coming to town who want to go to Sea World, Zoo, DisneyLand... and she doesn't have to be with them when they go.

There may be an exemption if the military person is deployed. If that is the case you would need to show verification. They should be able to tell you at your local ITT if you are near a base. Tickets can be purchased on base but still need to be brought to WDW for pass exchange.

I agree with most of the others, I am pretty positive the person has to be there to show id to get the discounted tickets.

I don't think you will be able to get in w/o the military relative being with you. My hubby had to show his ID when we went last summer.

We just returned from WDW (today!). You can purchase discounted tickets at the SHADES OF GREEN resort - right on WDW Grounds (close to Magic Kingdom). It is like a MWR - and they had the cheapest tickets we could find. You still need to be a dependent with an ID Card to purchase, but you don't have to be the active/retired military member.
They also have a BX (small) inside that has cheaper souveniers...but I was able to purchase several things at the W-M Supercenter in Kissimmee. They have a HUGE selection!
OH, and to get into SOG resort - you actually go through the gates of Magic Kingdom, but tell them you're going to SOG. They won't charge you for parking to go get your tickets.

We just went this summer & my mom hadn't planned on going to the park on the first day we were there but she had to go cause she had to show her military id as proof that she purchased the tickets. After the first day she didn't have to go with us.

To the best of my knowledge - the ticket holder MUST present their dependent ID, AD or Reserves ID in order to get the discounted tickets.
