Way to Remove "Date" Stamp on Pictures

Hi F. - Congratulations first and foremost! :) If they emailed you the photos, I would go to a website called Picnik - http://www.picnik.com/. It is free to use and there are lots of easy tools to use to crop, and "fix" things like red eye, etc. You may even be able to color over the date on the photo. The best part is they do not even make you register. I really like the service and use it all of the time. Good luck!

It depends on the dpi you scanned the pics on how the crop effects. I tend to crop and leave the pic the size it cropped at, but if you wanted it to be the standard 4 x6, then you will have to do as the other person suggested and add a broder or something.

I use Adobe Elements to do most of my photo editing, but my brother really likes the Corel Paintshop Pro. I find that Corel is much more user friendly, I didn't get it cause I already had Adobe Elements. But you need a good photo editing program of some sort and quality.

I would use the clone tool, and "erase" the date. That takes a lot of time, but worth the effort. Also, I bet if you google date stamp removal from pics, you will get a really neat instructions.

I don't understand your statement that you can't crop out the date because then it won't be clear when you print it. If you have digital copies of these photos (which I assume you do based on your question), it would be very strange for them to be such low resolution that a small crop would affect the print quality. Most digital photos are sized to print poster-sized -- you could crop down to a pretty small part of the photo and still have a great print. Almost any online photo program that lets you do prints will let you do the necessary cropping.

It's really not too hard, there is a program called Adobe Photoshop and you can download a 30 day trial. It might look a little confusing if you've never used it before, but there's a tool called the clone stamp tool and you'll use that take the color values that are next to the date stamp and cover it with those colors. It's kind of hard to explain without showing you, but you could probably find a clone stamp tutorial on youtube. I'm a consultant with Creative Memories and we have a digital photo editing program called Memory Manager. The software costs $39.95 and you can use a cloning tool to erase the date or you can just crop the photo and cut it out all together. There are numerous editing tools at your disposal with this software and you can also organize and store photos there too. The software is also easy to use and there is a myraid of tutorials/webinars/training videos on my website on how to use it. We also have software called Storybook Creator where you could take all of those photos and make a beautiful digital book of your wedding that would last forever!

Im a photo specialist, the only thing I could suggest if you cant crop would be to add a border to your pictures. A black or white border would make them look nice and it should cover the date. Go to www.walgreens.oom there are several really classy borders to choose from. Good luck.

Google has a free program called Picasa (picasa.google.com)
It has a button for retouching - which should allow you to remove the date. It is not automatic, but should work. (I was able to remove a huge scrape from my 3 year old's face, and the photo still looked good.)
I have also found this program to be useful in general for sorting photos and making crops and such to make them look nice.
(To print the photos, you export them - then print them like normal, at your choice of place...)
