Wart on Sons Finger

My son is almost 3 years old and he's had a wart on his finger for some time now. I had asked his doctor about it a year or so ago and he said to try and put the wart remover stuff on it and then duck tape around his finger...well everything I've tried my son has pulled off so I've kind of let it go. It is really starting to bug me now because I don't want him to have this wart on his finger anymore and I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions of how to keep something on his finger to cover the medicine or any advice at all. It bugs him and he'll pick at it from time to time so it's definitely time to get rid of it. Thanks!!

What can I do next?

I have a 'natural remedies' book and it says to put a little piece of crushed garlic on it with a band-aid for 24 hours (if you son can stand it) then it should blister and go away. My sister tried this and said it worked. my daughter has a wart on her foot and we're going to try it this weekend....so she doesn't have to smell like garlic at school!!!!

When i was younger i had a few warts and my mom always took me to the dermatologist. The over the counter stuff never worked for me and by going to the Doctor it's gone in one visit. They have different methods to remove the warts depending on the type of wart your son has. Thats why over the counter stuff doesn't always work, some warts need a stronger treatment. So if you want it gone in 1 day go to the dermatologist.

I had several warts on my hands as a child and my mom took me to the dermatologist many times to have them frozen off. It never worked so eventually the Dr. had to surgically remove them, using a local block on my hands. I still have ugly scars on my hands from it. I don't remember how many OTC remedies we tried but none of them worked for me. The warts have never come back but it was a very painful experience. I hope one of the easier methods works for you son.

Vinegar. use a q-tip to saturate it as often as you can but at least 3 times a day. This changes the ph and kills the wart. no band aide needed :P It will take longer to work than over the counter stuff but does the trick in no longer than 2 weeks, but within days it should start turning white.
To get faster results also rub the inside of a little piece of a banana peel on a wart every night. You should see results within one to two weeks. Good luck! This worked for me when I was in high school and it does not hurt like freezing!

Dear J.,
I had a similar problem with my son when he was a little guy. I took him to the Dr. and he explained that it's an immunity issue. The body hasn't recognized the wart/s as a foreign body and hasn't attacked it yet. The vinegar, duct tape, and I especially like the idea of the inside of a banana! -I've heard of a wetted aspirin wiped on it too, all work because they irritate the site, but also affirmations work too- the acid brings the body to recognize his wart/s has a foreign substance, so it builds antibodies which take care of the wart by attacking it. I guess the studies show that affirmations also build the immunities and thus can help the body recognize a wart as a foreign substance! Just keep doing what you are doing...it will work- one day you'll look down and the wart will be gone. It's almost like magic! You could also put the duct tape on at night while he is sleeping and it would stay on through the night at least.
Best to you,
H. B. MOM(mother of many-9)

My middle daughter had a wart on her knee that we could not successfully rid of with over-the-counter stuff. The doctor finally just froze it off and it has never returned!

Some warts will spread fast so him picking at it isn't good.
Maybe take him to the Dermotologist and have them freeze it their way. Then keep it covered. Some of the OTC stuff doesn't work well and takes too long. Freezing it is quick, easy and painless and it will blister then scab over very fast.
