I have a great home remedy that I have used on myself and my 8 year old. If left untreated warts easily spread.
Take a tiny bit of cotton soaked in apple cider vinegar. Squeeze some of the excess out. Place it over the wart. Then cover it with a waterproof bandaid. I recommend the Nexcare ones that seal all the way around the area. Leave it on overnight. Do this for a few nights. The wart will be puffy (it has absorbed the apple cider vinegar) when you take the bandaid off and eventually will be red. It is attacking itself. Do not pick the scab off. I did this and the wart was not completely killed and it reappeared. I found that it is most effective to leave it alone until the scab falls off itself.
You can do a search online for apple cider vinegar wart removal and read lots of success stories. It is an inexpensive method, non toxic and painless.
I had one frozen by a dr when I was a child and I can still see the small scar on my hand!
