Wanting to Know About Day Care Costs

I was curious what to expect when it comes to day care costs. I am getting charged $125 a week in home day care and all I need to provide is diapers. Is this an average? Also, when do the prices drop? After a certain age, or when they become potty trained? I am clueless....

I pay $140 a week for my 4month olds home day care with the same deal to only provide diapers. When I called traditional day care centers, I got quotes of weekly rates as high as $220 a week. I used to work in a center in North Florida and our rates went down at a year because we had a higher child/adult ratio after a year. Under a year there has to be one adult for three or four babies.

I have a two year old son...not potty trained. I pay $120.00 a week for a licensed sitter (in her home). I only provide diapers also. I don't believe it goes down when he is potty trained. I also pay her even when she is on vacation (approx. 2 weeks a year).

I have a 6 mos old and she is in "in home daycare" (licensed). We have been paying $140/wk and she just raised it to $150. I supply diapers like you. I am looking to change providers (for other reasons) so maybe I can go with yours for $125!

$120 - 125 is about the average that i have seen. Its great if all you supply is diapers. I found one in clearwater that charges 150 and I supply the food. I also found one in oldsmar that charges 135 and they will help potty train once hes potty trained it will go down to 125 and they supply all the food and juices. cant beat that

That is typical. I am going to start putting my 3 mon old son in home daycare at the end of this month. I interviewed 9 people. THe price ranged $100- $180, 6 out of 9 charged 120-125/week. Most go down to 110/week once they turn 1 year old.

I take both of my son's to Discovery Point, one is in pre k the other goes twice a week and they LOVE IT!! For new borns the price is, for two year olds, around $140 then when potty trained it goes down. Lunch and two snacks are included, they get to go outside, play with other kids and it is infront of our neighborhood!!!
