Hello Mamas! I have a friend who is a stay at home mom who is going to be watching my 2 year old one day a week while I work. What is the going price for in home daycare? I will be bringing all of her food due to a food allergy. TIA!
When I lived in New York I was getting 140 per week. Usually a daily rate is just slightly higher when prorating. I'd say 35-40 for the day would be fair. We get that here in the midwest and I know that New York prices are higher.
My daughter is currently in a home daycare (for one more week before she starts preschool). I pay $150/wk and that includes meals and milk. I just bring diapers and wipes. I think she was a little on the lower end from the few other ones that I looked at. Hopes this helps.

We live about 90 minutes south of DC and I pay $150 a week for my 3 year old. I provide his lunch, but breakfast, snacks, and drinks are provided for him. When he was in diapers we brought the diapers and wipes as well. When we switched to a daily rate with her, what we are still at because my husband is home and we rarely need her, it is $20/day per kid. That is really cheap though. She is AMAZING and we love her and she loves our kids...the bond there prompted her to offer us a lesser rate so we can still use her. I would say about $40-$50 a day is good if it's only one day a week.
ask other day homecares, there can be big differences depending on where you live. since its only one day though, it shouldnt be too bad. usually a daily rate is slightly higher than the full week divided by 5.
Price is going to vary based on where you are. Check w/ other in-home daycare providers to see what they charged. If the friend you are using is not licensed you probably can't claim it on your taxes plus since you are providing ALL the meals I can't imagine she would charge as much as a licensed provider.
When my daughter went to one, it was $140 per week when she was an infant, and then $125 when she turned 1. I also sent all of her food. I watched a baby last year until she was 15 months, and I charged $140, and her parents also provided her food. I know some other home daycares in my area that only charge $95-$100 per week. However, you should really see what the going rate is for your city.
Home daycares is my area get around $200/month. I have watched my friends daughter a few days off and on and have charged $50 a day.
I would call other home daycares in your area and ask the going rate.
