Vomitting in the Second Trimester

I can't hold anything in my stomach since the last 3 days. MY first pregnancy i wasn't even nauseating, with this i was a little in the first trimester but never vomit. Now i'm hungry but scare to eat because i can't hold anything in. My question is shouldn't this be happening in the first trimester not the second? Is this normal? Did anyone experience this? I'm worried.

What can I do next?

Hi M.~
Every pregnancy is different, I know mine were. I will tell you this, any doubts call the doctor. Don't wait to get all upset or worried about it, you need to hear your doc say everything is fine.
How old is your 1st child? Maybe you dont' recall feelign this way in your 2nd trimester? Is your first child a girl/boy and maybe these symptoms are different due to the gender? There are so many things that can trigger the different symptoms- have you been eating/activities any different?
3 days is a long time to be vomiting, even for a normal person- call the doctor for at least, if anything, reassurance so you won't be worrying. Good luck, and please let us know what happened. Take care. You are in my prayers :)

You can eat some Ginger candies sold in Asian market. You can check out Trader Joe's if they sell any Ginger candies. I drank Ginger tea. Sometimes, I just cut my own slices of ginger in hot water and soak it for 2-4 minutes. You can add sugar and honey if you don't have gestational diabetes. Hang in there.

Hi there M.,
My sister-in-law was sick much of her pregnancies and had good success with the drug Zophran. It's not harmful to the fetus and is helpful with normalizing nausea etc. Plus, it has just gone generic, which is great because it was like $10 a pill!
Regards,
D.

Like the other ladies say, every pregnancy is different. For my sister-in-law, the prenatal vitamins where making her throw up. Just thought I'd put it out there.

I vomited three times a day, every day, until I was 8 months pregnant. Every woman and every pregnancy is different - it is not abnormal to still be vomiting, even throughout the entire duration of the pregnancy.
I myself and very sensitive to hormones - I cannot take birth control pills of any type, and believe me, I've tried them all, they all make me vomit like I was pregnant - so my body is overly sensitive to my OWN pregnancy hormones when I have a bun in the oven. Its hard, especially when you have another child's needs to take care of - but it just is how it is with some pregnancies.
I wouldn't worry too much about it unless it continues and is to the extreme.

Is it possible you have a stomach flu? That happened to my once while I was pregnant and I took 1 tblsp of boiled down caffeine-free cola every 15 minutes until my stomach settled down enough to eat. Then I stuck with chicken broth and toast until I was over it.

If you're sure it's the pregnancy, try drinking red raspberry tea from Traditional Medicinals or taking red raspberry herbal pills. It helps to balance out what's causing the nausea. Ginger is also great as well as papaya enzymes. I have even seen "Preggy Pops" for nausea from pregnancy!

If worse comes to worse, there's always Saltine crackers and ice chips.

Hope this passes soon and congratulations!

Exact thing happened to me. No sickness with first pregnancy or first trimester with the second pregnancy but then all of the sudden was sick everyday, almost all day in second trimester. Good luck, it's a rough and bumpy ride. I chewed on ginger chews (Reed) found at Whole Foods. Hope this helps.
