Vomiting in 4 Month Old

Just got a call from the daycare about noon today - baby is vomiting and just not acting like himself. Hubby and I go there to get him, he is acting ok, smiling and cooing, but just doesn't look like he normally does. We take him doc - no fever. He has vomited twice in a 3 hour time span. It is quite a bit when he does it, not just spit up. Doc says it is either teething or that he is coming down with something, we just don't know what yet. Any ideas? I have never heard of vomiting that much when teething. Is that normal? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Thanks moms

EDIT - To answer some questions - baby has not had any new foods, he is exclusively breastfed and hasn't started any solids yet. I have the same plain bland diet! =)

What can I do next?

I agree, stomach bug or gastro. If it's gastro, diarrhea will start after the vomiting stops usually.

I always know when my son is getting sick when he isn't himself. Unfortunately, that means I usually take my son to the doctor too soon before he starts showing tell tale signs of being sick and I end up back at the doctor's office later in the week!

Sounds like he's coming down with something. For my son, acting "not himself" is usually a sign that he's fighting something off.

If it were me, I'd check with my caregiver to make sure that he wasn't fed anything on accident. Otherwise, sounds like some sort of tummy bug. Sorry! And no, I've never heard of vomitting during teething either.

My daughter, who was 7 months at the time, was vomiting like that for a few days. A stomach bug that doc said was going around. I have never heard of teething doing that either! I would just watch your little one doesn't get dehydrated, but if it is a bug there is nothing you can do. We just did small meals, like 1 to 2 ozs and then wait to make sure they kept it down and then do that again. Good luck

Sounds like a stomach bug to me. Sorry, that sucks!

(But on the bright side, does this mean you get to stay home with him for a couple days?)

Not sure about the teething aspect of it.
Could he have cought a bug from another child at daycare?
Look at Pedialite bottle at drugstore for age limit but we gave that to our kids to keep from becoming dehydrated especially when vomiting.

anything can happen during teething every kid is different. I had one with scorcher fevers, one who cried all the time, who drooled a real lot one who just bit your shoulder so the baby could be teething or not . Did the baby get any new foods recently? Or it just may be a bug. So long as the has wet diapers do not worry so much about the vomit it looks like there is more when coming from a little person. Good Luck!
