I'm 8 months pregeant ,, I have Heartburn everyday. The constipated is more then I can handle And for some reason ....I'm having my morning sickness now!! For the heartburn,, I eat Tums or Rolaids. For the Morning Sickness ,, I keep crackers on hand,,but still vomit ... Almost every single day!! The part that has me really worried and what I have to figture out is........ The constipation part!! Not to be gross ,,but the only way you will understand is if I explain to you the problem.. What is happening is..I wont use the bathroom for a day to ..two days and when my body finally is trying to get rid of it!! Its SO HARD And SO BIG<< I cant get it out!! My body is pushing on its own ,,but it is stuck!! I took tolit paper and tried to pull it out or break it off and nothing!! Its so bad that I actually have to go somewhere else in my head and push as hard as I can!! This scares me because (1) Im so close to having the baby ..I don't want to hurt him ,(2) I can feel it actually ripping my behind!(3) I know this isn't normal,, and don't know what to do!! Please can someone help,,,,,Give me some thing to do before it gets this bad!! The Situation where its actually been this bad and has ripped me ,,happened only twice! This was yesterday ,,and about two weeks ago!! My bowel movements are always solid and I haven't had any soft or normal movements in along time..Its to the point ....I Fear Going #2!! When I finally went yesterday ,,,and why it hurt so bad I almost passed out from the pain!! Is because the movement was as big around as an orange and as long as an banana ... this isn't right!! Please Someone ,,Help me understand how I can stop this before it becomes this bad and also what causing this!! Thank you for any help!!

Are you drinking enough water? It will help and contact your GYN because maybe they will suggest Miralax so help things move a little smoother.
First, call your doctor to see what they suggest!
For the constipation you could try colace suppositories. If you take care of the constipation you will probably find that the heartburn and vomiting get better. You are so backed up there is no where for the food or acid to go but up.
Drink prune juice regularly and lots of water, fruit and veggies!
Drink lots of water and fiber.
Rolaids helps the acid stomach but makes the constipation worse.
Benefiber can be added to practically everything.
Fiber gummies are good too.
Try some different prune smoothies.
You can also try oat bran for cereal in the morning.
A serving of oat bran (cooks/nukes up with about 1 cup of water) with a spoon of nut butter (I like almond but cashew is good too) on top is great for fiber and protein.
Some exercise might help (but I know this is hard at 8 months - my hips were grinding something awful that last month) - try swimming - it's wonderful for taking the pressure off your back and joints.
You've only got a month or so to go before you get your kidneys and innards to yourself again!
You sound like you could be impacted. You definately need to be drinking more water and absolutely no sodas! Please make a visit to your doctor as they can probably give you something to help clean you out and then get you on a regemine of Miralax or another alternative. The reason you are having issues could be a great number of things. For one, the baby is squashing your insides making it very difficult on normal things to happen inside your gut. It's quite serious that you are vomiting and having large BM's that are causing you to tear. You need more fiber and water. Try and get into the habit also of training your bowels also. Go potty at the same time every day. (Most folks is early morning) Even if nothing happens just try it anyways. Don't ever hold it in-worst thing to tell your bowels to do. That contributes to the constipation. Go to the doc and have him order you something-probably be an enema, so be ready. Not pleasant but you will feel better. Good luck.
It's kind of a myth that morning sickness is only a morning thing and is only a first trimester thing. With my first I had it during the first and third trimester. With my second I had it all day, every day with vomiting. Some people never get sick, and some of us are the lucky ones who are sick for 9 months. It sucks!!! But it's not hurting baby, and it's not harming you.
Some women have such severe morning sickness that they have to take prescription meds. Some are even hospitalized. Hopefully yours never rises to that level.
I also had heartburn, and it really does hurt!!! My doctor prescribed pepcid, but she also said tums was fine to take.
As far as the constipation goes, you must talk to your doctor. There are things you can do to help. Drink lots of water, increase your fiber. If that still doesn't help your doctor can prescribe a stool softener. I've had to have those after my oldest was born. I had placental abruptia. I lost a lot of blood, and my son was born via emergency c-section. So my iron was very low, and I was on prescription pain meds. Both of those things can cause constipation, so the doctor also prescribed stool softeners. They really do work!!!
Talk to your doctor. You want to make sure you let him/her know everything, so that he/she can give you the best advise for your situation. Everything you've described is not uncommon during pregnancy, so your doctor has heard this before and really will know how to help.
I agree with the first person who responded that these 3 are probably all related...heartburn, vomiting and constipation... it has to go somewhere, and if it can't get into/past your stomach or colon....
Call your doctor please. They can tell you what to do to treat your condition. Believe me, you are not the first or only pregnant woman to deal with a slow digestive system. Some of it is just pregnancy, some can be related to taking prenatal vitamins (which often have iron in them)...
Drink lots of water. And move. Really... walking helps.
But call your doctor. They can help you. And it is "normal" in the sense that they will not be surprised to hear you are having this problem and will know what to do for you.
Water and lots of it. This can include hot HERBAL tea with lemon.

Fresh Kiwis
A nice big Spinach salad
I concur that Tums, Rolaids, can cause worse constipation.
Go for a walk then come home and Soak in a warm bath.
I agree with the others, please contact your doctor.
I had some constipation problems with my last pregnancy, and that was just over 7 years ago. The doctor told me to use metamucil, walk more, drink more water.

Why haven't you called your OB/GYN about this?
He/She will tell you what you can take to help with the bowel movements and heart burn.
You need to drink more water. Anytime one is constipated, they need to drink more water. I would ask your OB/GYN if you can take any type of laxative - I don't know your health, etc. so it would be hard to tell what you CAN take...sometimes eating things like prunes and yogurt help.
The heart burn? Again - more water. What is your diet like? What are you eating? Sometimes foods like broccoli and cauliflower, which can be VERY gassy - cause heart burn. If you are having it EVERY day with vomiting?? I would have my blood pressure checked as well as my blood sugar....in my opinion? That's not right. Every once in a while - sure - but EVERY DAY??? no way. Then the constipation. I'm surprised you haven't called your OB/GYN and told them what is going on.
I would call the nurse/help line RIGHT NOW and tell them EVERYTHING you told us...and tell them you need help NOW. Tell them about the heart burn, tell them about the vomiting and tell them about the constipation....

Magnesium will help, but you do need to check with your doctor. At this point an enema is probably needed, then use all of the other suggestions to avoid getting this bad in the future. Your bowels are being pushed on and you will have to be careful to keep them moving.
Everything you're describing really isn't abnormal during a pregnancy. You've gotten a lot of good ideas, but I would call your doctor before trying any of it. During pregnancy, and especially towards the end of the pregnancy, it's very important to consult your doctor.
Call your doctor and describe everything. Like Diane said, be as graphic with your doctor as you have bee here. Your doctor needs as much information as possible to help determine the right course of action for you.
So far you've been trying to handle this on your own, but you really want to follow your doctor's instructions.
Ditto everyone who said call your OB. This is severe and needs to be treated. Pregnant women are supposed to be drinking half their body weight in oz of water every day. If you weigh 190lbs, that means 95 oz of water. It isn't the easiest thing for me to drink water, so I make a lot of citrus fruit infused water. This will help more than you realize.
I'm not pregnant,but do have stomach problems. You may not like my suggestion but it works. Take a couple tablespoons of vinegar with a half glass of warm water each morning. This will help you keep regular and heartburn will be gone. For the vomiting maybe ask the doctor about the vitamins your on, there is one that will help with the vomiting. Hope everything else is good and you have a healthy baby. H.
More water. Also don't push and relax. You'll get hemorrhoids like you've never seen before in your entire life. I know it's hard but you don't want to hurt yourself. Antacids containing calcium can actually increase constipation. If you are taking them for heartburn, and a lot of them, that could be why you are noticing this constipation. On that same note, try to cut back on dairy.
Talk to your OB for more suggestions on what you can take. Constipation is pretty normal at this stage, but you don't want it to get to the severe stage. This could be leading to the nausea/morning sickness you are feeling also. Hormones at this stage can make you pretty miserable. Hang in there.
You do know your doc can manage this right?
He can give you something such as a stool softener, Miralax, or some other med that is safe for you and your baby. You are hurting your body and possibly the baby with your bearing down.
Many women have constipation and some will black out when bearing down because their blood pressure is effected.
I was sick 3 - 4 times every day for 8 1/2 months. Every single day. It's not uncommon. But taking so many antacids and stuff for your stomach could be exactly what's making the poop so hard.
Cut down on the dairy and drink more water.
When you say you haven't had a normal movement in a long time, do you mean just during pregnancy? Or did some of this problem pre-date the pregnancy? If it's ongoing, and if the heartburn is or isn't part of that, this can be dealt with - and needs to be. I work with people all the time to help with digestive issues and it's very easy to fix. But you need immediate results and what I'm talking about can take a few weeks.
If it's just pregnancy-related (and obviously it's much worse and of greater concern), you need to take some immediate steps. Start with your OB/GYN and be as precise and graphic as you have been here. I'm guessing the doctor will say to stop the vitamins - pills screw up people's digestive systems all the time. The doc will probably also say stool softener, more bran, tons more water, more fruit, zero cheese and probably most other dairy. I would say no bananas, rice, applesauce, toast, right? The BRAT diet is what people eat when they have intestinal upset and diarrhea, so you have the opposite.
It's quite likely that the heartburn will go away when you both eliminate these foods and have a lot less in your intestines. Some women get results with almonds with morning sickness, but I'm not sure that's what you have. You may have such impacted feces in your intestines that everything is pushing up and squished the stomach. However, late pregnancy can do that anyway, with the baby pushing on the stomach and even up into the breast bone area (a lot of pregnant women who get chest pain are really feeling everything separate the ribs and put pressure on the sternum).
If you're not have a bowel movement or two every day, you don't have a healthy colon. You might not anyway - just because stuff goes through doesn't mean the colon walls are clean (same as blood still pumping through a partially clogged artery).
So, eat smaller meals more often, go heavy on the fiber, lay off things like broccoli and green peppers and anything gassy, and don't drink any fluids but water (especially no milk products). I wouldn't drink anything at all with caffeine if you are allowed that, because it dehydrates. You need massive hydration now.
If you are in this much pain and at risk of passing out, imagine what will happen if you pass out in the bathroom and hit your head on the edge of the toilet or the corner of the sink! Not good.
You can also go see the pharmacist and get something over the counter that is safe during pregnancy. FYI if you start having bowel movements, that can make you light-headed right now, so be safe, have someone around you, and don't drive if you are constipated or have just gone to the bathroom.
