I recommend getting the compression stockings too. They will help with the circulation in your legs. I had the varicose veins in my first pregnancy and after baby was born they did not go away. The veins got worse and were very painful. I ended up having to have them removed in one leg. The surgery and recovery went well. I was up and about back to myself in a couple days. I still have to wear the compression stockings occasionally when my legs start to hurt. I'm in my third pregnancy now and haven't had the veins get as worse as they did with the first. The stockings that my doctor prescribed cost over $100 but well worth it.
