My daughter is bringing in a special card. I'm not doing candy because most 'women' don't need it - if you know what I mean.
My kiddies 5 and 6 are having their party in school tomorrow. If I don't get seperate cards for the teachers, will my kiddies be the only ones??? Is it awful if I don't get the teachers something special? Just wondering what other moms are doing.

I love Valentines day! I would def get them something special. Skip the card and get them a five dollar gift certificate to sonic or some drive through, coffee place (even if they dont drink coffee they can buy hot chocolate or a muffin ) . Bake some cookies do something special fr them . They TEACH your kids you should show that you appericiate that!
I got my son a box of Valentines for under 2 dollars and he filled out ones for all the kids and then the teachers too. Do you mean if you should go out and buy a sepperate valentine for the teacher or can you give her one from the box? I think any consideration is appreciated but not expected.
My son and I just made valentine's for his class, and made some extra special ones for his 2 teachers. I am not very crafty, but they turned out great, and I didn't spend any money as we had all the supplies on hand already.
Some of the boxes of vday cards for the kids comes with a bigger one for the teacher. My kids have always gotten a little $1.50ish box of candy for their teacher. When they were younger, they would color them a card/pic but now that they are older they just give them a little box of candy. I'm sure there are lots of kids that don't get their teacher anything for Vday so don't worry about it. Good luck!
Oops - I didn't think to get the teachers anything for valentine's day. I sent my son to school with valentines for all his classmates only. Thanks for posting, I will think of something special to send his teachers on a different day.
My 4 year old daughters party was today, I went to Aldi's and purchased little flower pot already placed in a gift bag for $3.99! Also made them chocolate covered strawberrie's. It's not a big deal if you choose to only give them a card, I like how my daughters teacher takes the time to tell me about my daughter and what they did in class today. I also made chocolate covered pretzel rod's and stuck conversation hearts on them, it was a hit and barely cost me anything to make it!
I usually buy those kid Valentine cards and have them fill out one for the teacher. I don't buy a special one for them and I figure it's the thought that counts. Candy is not allowed in our school so just the cards for everyone.
When my girls were that age we just got them a special candy - like one of those heart. Once they got to be 8 or so we didn't bother anymore.
I bought my kids there valentines cards for the class and each of their packets came with a teacher card in it as well. SO..that means that my son's kindergarten teacher is getting a pirate tattoo and my 3rd grade son's teacher is getting pixie stix. lol. I also got them each a SMALL bag (3 chocolates in each bag) of Lindor chocolates for their teacher. That's it.

I was the room-parent for my son last year (kindergarten) and helped with the V-Day party. Most kids (maybe 14 of 17) sent in a card and candy for the teacher.
My boys will give each of their teachers a valentine (Fun Dip) and a single pink or orange rose. I found single roses in many colors at Walmart for just a couple of dollars each and picked up a pair. Remember, if you do this, red roses are for lovers...pink and yellow mean friendship.
Some of the boxed children's valentines have separate ones for the teacher. As for us -- yes, I am insane:^) -- we are making my daughter's cards by hand. We will make an extra-fancy one for her teacher, maybe a magnet or something.
I rarely purchase gifts for my kiddo's teachers. I usually am too short on cash, and truthfully, I've been told they don't want more candy or mugs. When I do have the money, I'll buy gift cards to office supply stores instead. This way they can actually buy the things they need to teach without having to take it out of their own paycheck:^)
I have a 9 yr old and a 12 yr old. A total of 7 teachers this year, they picked out a heart shape box of chocolate (a small one) for $1 at walmart and a Valentine's card. If you are able to, then I think you should, even if its something small, but if you cant then dont worry about it. The teachers are parents too and know that some parents cant due to financial ability. One year I had my kids make them their own card from construction paper and taped a chocalate candy to it and the teachers were very grateful!!
I think if you can afford to get their teachers a little something ( box of candy, gift card, have them make a card) you should!!
Teachers have become severely unappreciated! They take our kids for 8 hours a day and TEACH them!
My son has always gotten both his teachers and his teachers aid a Christmas, valentines, and end of the year gift. I do it because she is an awesome teacher! And she has a job I know I could never do!
So if you can, then you should. IMO
