We live in Chicago and are looking for a vacation where my daughter can meet other kids in activities interesting to 10 yr old girls and I can meet other parents - perhaps single parents too.

What can I do next?

I took my daughter on a Disney Cruise when she was 9. Just me and her. I met a lady about my age with a son about my daughters age and we hit it off.

Check to see if you have a Parents Without Partners group where you live. They plan year round family activities for single parents. It's a great way to have fun and meet families headed by singles.

Before reading the other answers, my first thought was also a cruise. There are tons of activities for your daughter, typically broken down by age so she will be with kids her age, give or take a couple of years. Many cruise lines now offer a "tween" club that is separate from their kids and teens clubs. On a cruise, there are also many opportunities for adults and plenty of people do them without their spouses, so you certainly wouldn't feel like a fish out of water. In addition, many people on cruises are traveling with friends, not exclusively with family, so you have a good chance of meeting other people that aren't part of a couple. You and your daughter can also find plenty of things to do together on a cruise.

Any cruise would be good. Royal Caribbean has a great kids program and you could join up with the singles group (they usually have one on the ship)

I also vote for a cruise. We went on one last year and it was amazing for the kids and my husband and I. There were so many ladies groups on there I could have gone of on my own if I wanted to.

We didn't see our kids when we were on the ship hardly at all...they loved the kids activities!

I am a single mom of a 10 yo. We did a 7 day cruise last summer and by day 3 I was ready to go home. I got sooo bored even with activities. Everyone was there with families. I found no single parents
