Has anyone gone on one of the Disney Cruise's? Our family is thinking of doing one for our vacation this year. We have a 6 year old, 5 year old, and a 10 month old (he will be about 15 months). None of us has ever been on a cruise and want to do one that the kids will enjoy and we can all have fun together as a family. If you have been on one of these or know someone who has and have any insite about it please share it with me so we can get it booked or book something else.
Thanks so much!

My soon-to-be stepdad had gone twice with his grad children and said they all enjoyed it. Once they went on just the cruise and the other time they ended up at Disney Island. He says it's a blast, just be prepared to fork out some cash.

H.-one of my friends did the disney cruise a couple years ago. He said it was the best thing they did. His kids were probably 6/7 and 10/11. They never saw their kids during the day-they were having so much fun at the camps. Their kids didn't even want to eat dinner with them! He said that they have stuff your kids can do (without you) from the time they get up up until bedtime. You get a buzzer so if your kids need you/don't want to do the camp anymore, they buzz you to come get them. Have fun!

I went on the Disney Cruise back in September with my family and absolutely loved every moment of it, and even the island we stopped at was so much fun. While on the Disney Cruise you get to see Broadway type theater shows every night, and even they have a movie theater. There is also characters you get to meet. One day you will stop at Disney's own private island called Castaway Cay and it is awesome. The food is awesome on the ship, and all the people are very nice. They host parties on the ship for families to go to, one of them is when you first get on the ship, and then one is like the last night, and it was a pirate themed one. There is a Pizza place outside by the pool where the kiddos can walk up and a piece of pizza. It is just a blast.

We have been on a Disney Cruise and you will love it. We took a 3 yr old, but there are activities even for the adults. They have separate pools according to ages. You will see the girls dressed in cinderalla dress and boys in pariate outfits. At the dinner table one night the kids are given pariate neck scrafs. One of the stops of the Disney private island everyone including our selfs loved that best of all and wished we could have just stayed there an extra day. We did not know that the kids dressed up in charactor or we would have brought our 3 yrs old her cinderalla dress she plays with at home. So, please take that kind of stuff with you. You could call my travel agent Leah or Robin at 1-800-221-6775 they have both been to the Disney College and know everything you need to know and she called me last week and was telling me about a special Disney had going, I do not remember what it was right now but call they would be glad to take the time with you. Tell them S. K. gave you their number.

H.,

We did the Disney Cruise last summer. My children were 4 and 7. It is AWESEOME! Unlike other cruise lines, it is completely geared towards families. Lots of plexiglass so no one falls over, characters everywhere, shows the kids loved, very kid friend food. Disney's private island is amazing. Captain Jack's boat is sitting right in the bay, what kid wouldn't love that?

I frankly think you could take a baby and it would be fine. There were lots of babies cruising with us. Their child care on board is fantastic, my kids LOVED it and wanted more of it. And if you don't want to use the childcare, there is plenty to do and take your kids too. Disney is very careful about cleanliness on board, hand gel and wipes are everywhere. The cabins are larger than other cruise lines and family friendly.

Obviously, I highly recommend it and would love to go again. If you go, book a massage for yourself on the private adult beach at Castaway Cay, so worth it. I had my husband watch the kids while I went and it was the best money I ever spent. :) H. this helped you a tad.

One side note: I love disney. We did take our kids to Disney world when they were 2 and 5. Some would say it was young. They loved it. They were young enough to truly still believe in the magic. My daughter thought she really met all the princesses and that they were real. Too cute. But of course I'll take them again. I think Disney is something to enjoy throughout life. Good luck!

While I have not been on a Disney cruise, I have been on a Caribbean cruise. After that trip (which was our honeymoon) I do not think I would take my 10 month old on a cruise. I saw lots of families and only a few of them had babies with them. To me it looked very hard to do with a baby. The 'normal' state rooms on our ship were not the largest, and would have been very hard to sit a crib up in comfortably. Some of the families that were on our level had to be spit up into two rooms. I think on a Disney cruise it would be a blast and I am sure that your older children would love it...but, I also think that in a couple-few years so would the 10 month old. Then they would be able to remember going as well. Unless you plan on taking two cruises! lol I personally would not even take my 2 year old to Disney World or Disney Land yet...if I am gonna be saving and spending that amount of money for a vacation, I want all of my kids to remember it, lol.

Good luck and I H. you all enjoy your vacation, where ever it might be, this year!

My family and I just got home from Disney cruise for our 1st time!! We LOVE it and want to go back again!!! We booked 4 days cruise and 3 days in Orlando for Magic Kingdom! We had GREAT time and exhausted!! We suggest you to go cruise or Orlando instead of both. It's too much and overwhelming for parents with little children (3 and 6 years old). I booked them on vaction to go.com. They had great bargain deal!! Wish we stay 7 days in cruise instead of 4 days!! We will do that next time!! Have fun and good luck!!:)
